WestCoaster 2013 Unfortunately (1 Viewer)

Hi my WC friends, unfortunately I had to cancel my trip at the last minute to the WC! I was the "bitter" recipient of a broken main water line into my house and basement so that has thrown my week into a disarray. The fortunate news is the collection survived with minimal damage (about $2000) total to baseboard, playsets, other collectibles, electronics. I feel very fortunate that zero metal was involved and I caught the situation very early. The headache was the clean out and repair, have not got the bill for that yet, but that too shall pass. End of the day, the biggest casualty was my WC trip to visit old friends. SO, to all my good friends out West, raise a pint or glass for me and I will either see you in Chicago or at the WC next year! To "drown" my sorrows, I bought myself a Trophy WW1 General on Ebay tonight!!!!!

At the end of the day, I consider myself very lucky, this could have been far worse! It stayed away from all metal figures which was great. Hopefully the insurance will cover the small items without issue, they have been great thus far!

Anyhow, you Westcoasters are lucky, the Trophy for sale is safe at this time!!!

I can sympathize, Tom. My truck's engine threw a rod Tuesday morning, so cleaning up after that will put a damper on my hobbying, too. I was going to go to ColdWars in Lancaster this weekend, but I've cancelled. Glad to hear your problem wasn't worse and that recovery is underway, and there'll be other shows

Thanks for all the wishes, I really didn't mean to put a woe is me post up. Again, honestly more bummed about missing friends and the show! It was more of timing than anything and of course, the better half asking - Do you really need to go to California right now when I have no laundry room???? Again, all is well that ends well, when I get the insurance check, it will hopefully be a forgotten distant memory!
