Hello fellow AWI collectors!!

There are many varied sets in the K&C AWI series. This series has been around for a long time, seeing many other series come and go. There has been 162 sets release to date, and (hopefully) hundreds more to go. This is right up there with the "BIG" boys like the NAPs; the WWII Waffen SS; LAH and SOHK

I have a difficult time trying to decide what sets are my favorite. I guess it depends on what I just found on the Fourm or my local vendor gives me a call. Below. I have broken them into (sets) or (regiments) or (groups) (whatever you want to call them)

My (current) top 5 are:

42nd Scottish Highlanders Sets (BR24 - BR32)
Hessian Regiment Sets (BR62 - BR74)
(Second Release) NY 1st Regiment (AR35 - AR43)
(First Release) 23rd Royal Welsh Fusiliers Sets (BR1- BR4 / BR11 - BR13 / BR 20/BR22)
(Second Release) 23rd Royal Welsh Fusiliers Sets (BR75 - BR90)

Rhode Island Regiment Sets (AR59 - AR71)

Backwoodsmen and Militia (AR53 - AR58)

British Cavalry Sets / British Dragoons / Supply Wagon Sets (BR54 - BR61)

French Regiment (AR14 - AR19 / AR30 - AR32)

(Second Release) Continental Marines (AR45 - AR52)

Continental Cannon / Howitzer / Crews Sets

British Cannon / Howitzer / Crews Sets

New Jersey Blue / Washington’s Bodyguard / George Washington

(First Release) British 10th Lincolnshire Regiment Sets (BR5 - BR10 / BR18 & BR19 / BR21 & BR23)

(First Release) NY 1st Regiment (AR1 - AR5 / AR12)

Pennsylvania Regiment (AR6 - AR10)

(First Release) Continental Marines (AR20 - AR24)

British Allies – Indians Sets (BR42 - 47 / BR51 - BR53)

Other British Army Sets (BR33 - BR50)

WHAT ARE YOURS??????????????

Hey Larry

Well....seeing how Im biased towards the US troops, I took the NY release- the blue's were very vivid. I still remember when this line was first launched and how I had to struggle between the AWI or WW2. otherwise the Scottish figures are very fetching to the eye. The Native American sets and the militia figures seem to be really really popular as well.

I think the Hessians are the most hideous of all the releases- not because they were poorly done but just the uniforms are just wretched.

The 42nd Scottish Highlanders Sets are what got me interested in K&C in the first place about 10 years ago and they are still some of my favorite sets.

You never can enough Hessians!

:smile2:

Oliver

Hideous? Wretched? ^&confuse
Well, my wife might agree with you. When I put them out she laughs and says, "There are those Conehead guys in their red striped pajamas." {sm3}

Are you saying that the K&C painting is wrong or that the Hessians uniforms in 1776 were hideous?

No, well, I have no idea if they are right or wrong, Im not a historian, they just look hideous- whether or not KC or some Hessian designer created those things. No way on God's green earth Id be willing to meet my maker looking like that!!

Your wife is 100% spot on!!

My favourite would be the Dragoons, both mounted and marching. K&C does cavalry sets best and I hope to see some mounted colonial units in the future. {sm4}

For British, I loved the Regulars sets, especially the marching poses. When deployed as a full company, they are a fine showing of British military might.

For the Colonials, I'd have to agree with Larry, the New York regt. (second release) figures are incredibly well sculpted and painted. Its a shame they didn't release any in "generic poses" as the ones they released are very individual and appear to be grouped in a fight to the death.

A close second for both would be the British Dragoons and the Rhode Island Regiment.

This is a fantastic series and I hope K&C releases some Royal Marines or perhaps some Colonial Militia to bolster the lines.

Best Regards,
Mike

I only have bought the woodland indians and they were pretty good.

Just saw this thread. I love K&C's militia figures and I also love their Brits that I have displayed in my study: (Sorry the photo isn't the greatest)

That's a very nice looking display that you have there ... Sure would like to see what you have on the other shelves.

REVWARBUFF do you have any pics of the Colonials? I really like what you shown so far.

Hello REVWARBUFF,

Excellent display AND WHAT a fabulous collection of K&C British as well AND nicely displayed. Also really like your JJD Raid on St. Francis collection and other Indians. I am not sure whose they are; (The ones around the campfire?)

So it is pretty evident that you are partial to the British Marching, but I recall some kickbutt displays that you did a while ago with the Britains Farmhouse and such.

Brendon, look for my collection of British, French, NY 1st, Militia, Indians, Hessians and more to start to appear shortly.

Evening OD,
Yep' the Dragoons are real nice but also real hard to find. I missed on getting all I wanted. (Hummmm  I wonder if REVWARBUFF got them all? {sm4})

I did get a few of the of mounted sets and a couple marching. However, I was able to get a good deal and ended up with "6"sets of Wagons w/ marching Dragoon (BR54). -- Larry
