Just wonder what demand there would be if First Legion made this range ?

I've admired FL from afar mostly because I'm not terribly interested in the Eastern Front and Desert campaigns of WWII however the thought of them moving into other campaigns that I collect like MG is a frightening thought! {eek3}

Yes please.

I for one would love to see FL's Take on Brit Para's.

Count me in.

I would like to see what they would offer

I don't see this as something that would interest Matt.

I hope you are wrong on this Brad, as I have discussed this via email with Matt and I get the impression that at some point a Western Front/MG theatre will be made available, hope I am correct on this?...Sammy

P.S. I would be over joyed to see MG series!!!!!...Sammy

Sammy, your impression is likely correct. I too, think that Matt will eventually add a Western Front series. However, I don't know if it will be specifically for the Market-Garden operation. As you well know, the ETO has a lot of options and I wouldn't be surprised if a Western
Front release was something more general in nature. Time will tell though....:)

I never said anything about a Western front line, just MG. Why not? Andy has done it well. I suppose FL could decide they wanted to take K & C for the heck of it. Don't see it though.

Brad,I also don't see FL doing this range anytime soon but I do not think that decision is affected by K/C:rolleyes2:.....FL is currently busy with many subjects which are still being developed....It may come a bit latter...Hope so:wink2:

FL seems to hit specific areas or battles like stalingrad so, would it not make sense for them to choose a battle from the west and focus on that. Perhaps addressing the italian campaign would be a natural progression and a good link from their desert campaign. Its a theatre that has been overlooked by other manufacturers

Frank,

Theoretically, I think FL likes to focus on areas not really explored before or recently, e.g. Stalingrad. Of course, that theory flies out the window when you talk of North Africa because the Afrika Korps has been visited by many companies. I think it's a combination of that plus what they think will sell and AK is popular with collectors. I don't know if MG is as universally popular although no one has yet really explored the United States side of it. It's just a gut feeling that's all.

I'm sure at some point First Legion will produce a Western Front theme , and it will be a WIN WIN for everyone... well almost everyone :wink2: . regards Gebhard

I agree Brad.....I don't think that MG is universally popular.....Also likely the reason why K/C has all but abandoned the subject which is somewhat limited in scope.....I think FL is more likely to explore Battle of the Bulge in the not too distant future irregardless of the competition.

I would only like to offer some empirical evidence with regard to the continuing world-wide interest in Operation Market-Garden (Battle of Arnhem). In late March of 2011 I initiated a blog page with the central theme being the battle, with additional articles about toy soldiers and militaria collecting. As of today, 2 January 2012, it has had over 17,950 hits from 104 countries (over 5,100 from the United States alone). I personally cannot explain the popularity, but can’t deny the numbers either. See http://www.arnhemjim.blogspot.com. In past threads I, as well as other forum members, have presented a reasonable range of potential additional subjects for expansion of the Market-Garden Series.

Sorry no empirical evidence....just as you have none yourself....I just do not think that FL will go in the direction of MG....Reasons as stated prior post....too many other subjects on their table....I still think Battle of the Bulge would result in more sales with a greater level of interest for WWII....IMO

Have to disagree BOB is just US V Jerrys battle but Market Garden cover British, Polish , Canadian, US and German forces + you have a air drop , river crossing .

Neil, there were Brits in the Bulge mate. I think FL would make a very good job of Arnhem, I couldn't buy them myself because of the size diff with my others, but I'm sure they'd be good.
