.... Surely he would want to have you store any Romans he has in his collection. :rolleyes2:

Warmest personal regards,

Pat :wink2::smile2:

Only as Auxilliaries- wouldn't want that rabble mixing with my polished and razor sharp Legions!! {sm4}

The Zulu War for me between Little Legion, Britains and Trophy.

Pat,
Great background info on the Durbar. I think you scared LB away.

Brett

You bet he scared me away. There are presently 11 elephants in my collection, which basically take up almost an entire cabinet. 20 times that many elephants would make me an elephant collector, as I would have no room for toy soldiers!{sm2}{sm3}{sm4}

Apparently there is this guy who only collects elephants! He just buys any elephant a manufacturer makes{eek3}!

My friend Charlie Zucker does that with camels. He has just about every camel made by every manufacturer in the last 30 years or so.

Hi Brett,

Ha! ^&grin^&grin Somehow, I really doubt I could scare LB away from any passion he wanted to pursue. However, I can try, can't I? :tongue:

Does it not seem that the most expensive era to collect is the one that you favor the most ???

Pat,

I think the "scare" tactics were to protect Durbar collectors from having Louis joining in and trying to round up any rare elephants.

Having said that I was surprised he had a few already.

Talking about camels I note Manze Manzano do one with a little cannon on it. Must have been interesting for rider and camel when it fired.

Brett

Hi Brett,

DRAT!!!! Was I that obvious with my post? :rolleyes2:^&grin

Warmest personal regards,

Good question, I can tell you what the cheapest is, K&C American Revolution because we only get a new series of figures released once every 3 years!! :rolleyes2:^&grin

Gee Cornwallis, that was going to be my line, but I decided to scan a few of the threads first and .......

Also our dioramas are cheeper. Just walk out into our back yards and pickup some sticks and few stones and a bit of debris and you are in business!

I think if manufacturers did more interesting units this era would be more popular. How 'bout Lee's Legion, Hessians, French, American Rifleman and Longhunters, colourfull militia, and other interesting units!

I would say something a little different - perhaps the era you would like to collect in addition to you favoured one. A bit of 'it looks good, but I just cannot stretch the budget further'.

Mapleleaf..

How many elephants get released per year? If you but 60 or 70 AFV's per year surely, then this would be more expensive than the elephants. I suppose it all depends on how deep your pockets are, to how much you wish to buy of the ranges you like
Mitch

Elephant cost more than a tank too

Looks like WWII is in the lead with collectors buying figures and Tanks, Planes, etc. I can see how the Napoleonics is up there too as I would assume many of these collectors
do Dioramas with many multiples of troops in mass and in formations.
