What Jagdtiger version would you want?? (1 Viewer)

The CS version will have operating hatches, doubtful the K&C version will.

For me opening hatches are not really vital, it's the paint job that does it for me.

I don't know the name, but I have seen other models with dark brown stripes over sand. Also, based on the current KC Tiger measurements, how much bigger should the Jagdtiger be?

GJB22...

The height and width of the KTII and the JT are the same or so similar to make little or no difference but, the length is only different with the gun taken into account.

In real terms the are as follows

King Tiger II

Length 7.26 m without gun
10.28m with gun

Width 3.66m without skirts
3.76 with skirts

Height 3.09m

Jagdtiger

Length 7.26m without gun
10.65m with gun

Width 3.65m without skirts
3.75m with skirts

Height 3.09

So, the Jagdtiger should be the same size as the existing K&C BBG 16 King Tiger but, with the box superstructure and the longer 128mm gun barral. don't know what this is going to do to price but, I would expect about £250 ish cannot see it being £300 as has been suggested

Brian may need to make new loading crew for the size difference in shell used on the two AFV's as the new KT crew won't work with a Jagdtiger
Mitch

Hopefully nowhere near £300 :(
Ithink the most i would pay is the same as the tiger any more and i think i would have to stop :( simply cant afford it
Regards Scott
Gotta agree with this. If the JT is even as much as $250.00, I will have to pass, even though it will kill me. -- Al

Your correct Mitch King tiger had a 88mm gun & the Jagdtiger a 128mm gun

I won't pay £200.00 1/30 tank full stop & with CS you don't need to

But sometimes you just have to pay more for a better vehicle, economy does not always mean quality.

I think were lucky there a choice so everyone should be happy , but paying more does not always mean better :D

Yep, thats also true:D .Once hardly anyone was making them and then two come along at once, one way or another the Jagdtiger will be featuring in many collections by the end of the year:cool:

When are these JTs to be released. I don't remember any dates being given or any photos of models?

Terry

I would expect K&C's fairly early as it sounded quite advanced in development who knows what others have in the production pipeline but, as tanks from Jan are all going to be the same price or very near each other we roughly know what we are going to be paying for it.

Will just have to wait and see what colour way Andy has went with but, he indicated he had seen some recent model mags and if they are the ones that I subscribe to they have recently been looking at Otto Carious last Tiger which, has hull mounted rear MG and a great splinter/ambush camo so, it seems to be the colour way to expect and, what I would hope for.

Don't want to precipitate Andy's pricing but, there is very little that comes out that I think I must have regardless apart from old stuff so, not really bothered about the cost so long as its done really well.
Mitch

It will be interesting to see which JTs get produced. There were only 88 made and not all were completed to get into combat. The first 2 were protoypes built in February 1944 - the Porsche 8 roadwheel version and the Henschel 9 roadwheel version. Actual production began July 1944 and the next 10 produced were Porshe versions all of which had zimmerit except the last one. After that, only Henschel versions were produced - none with zimmerit. Some had sideskirts.

Only two Heer heavy anti-tank battalions had JTs (512 and 653) and a 3rd unit reportedly had a few very late in the war.

The unit insignia and tank numbering is well documented, so there should be no excuses for not producing a correct vehicle and correct Heer uniforms.

Its going to be very interesting to get the dispatch when this is released I know a few people who are after this AFV

That's what I am thinking and my fear of the price. Andy said that the price increase on the HJ Panther was, in part, due to the size and paint work involved!
I don't see this beast priced under $250US.... I hope I'm wrong, though.:)

I think the most expensive recent release was DDay104 SL and weighed in at 4.8ILB's!!! and was in the UK £270 so, if you look at the price of the King Tiger II which, the Jagdtiger will be the same size as bar the length of gun which, before the price rise was £215 in the UK but, will be about £242 after jan 4th 2011 I think we won't see a huge difference in the cost of the new Jagdtiger.

Is it pricy? well a bit but, I am expecting it to look stunning and cannot see it being as expensive as the SL. It would be nice if Andy could offer some further info but, then I can see why he would not. so, I guess its a waiting game but, I am sure it will be worth it!!
Mitch

For me this AFV will be worth the outlay as it will very much be a one off purchase. Whilst I have many Tigers and Shermans just one of these massive JT's will be enough, am really looking forward to K&C's Jagdtiger:cool::cool:

Rob

Rob...

I agree its probably one of those AFV's that will be made and then revisited if ever only after a substantial length of time. I would expect it to be an SL or some form of limited range to assist in sales though, I am sure it will be popular
