What's Ahead? M10 (Dio) (2 Viewers)

The scene here is January 1945 somewhere in Belgium. A US M10 Tank Destroyer is just about to leave the cover of a forest, so the commander dismounts, sits on a log and surveys the surrounding open countryside before proceeding.

This BBA011 is one of the most underated K&C tanks IMO. The price at only $115 was quite a deal. I have included one tank crewman from the General Inspection Sherman (the one with his arms overhanging the turret) but have left out a full figure crewman from the BBA011 set. It also was one of the first tanks with better track/wheel detail. An excellent and affordable piece and one of my favorites still today.

I fully agree, it is my favourite as well. I am preparing a dio BOB with this beautiful tank killer. The repaint job of the vehicle and the figures however takes more time than expected. I hope to finish the complete dio by Xmas

Excellent dio and as you say a good tank. I did remember the literature saying note the improved wheel base or, similar. I bet it was really cold in 44/45 in an open top tank!!!

Thanks Mitch. I agree being in that open top turret would have to be rough in the cold like that. I think I would have wanted to be the driver instead of the loader or gunner!

Terrific shots, Duke. That winter base gets quite a workout! The M10 was my first K&C purchase and it opened the floodgates!

One of the things I really like about K&C is when you get to the point where you have a sizable collection you can mix and match the figures and poses to create an endless number of situations. Its great fun. Good job wwiibuff.

I agree about the mixing and matching. I like to take some of the tank crew from one piece and use in another. It makes the the tanks more versatile and gives them a different "look" for certain dioramas. It's a little diffecult on some tanks like the M10 here and maybe the Panzer IV which have a couple of fixed crewmen, but even in these tanks it can still be done.
