Having received the wonderful sergeant of King's Own Scottish Borderers i was asking myself which new unit Andy will produce for the next batch of WWI Tommies.Yes i know..we need French , German with Stalhelm Belgian..Italian ..(it's a bit too early for Americans)..but i think the Tommies with their colourful Battle Patches and variety of uniforms deserve to be portrayed again.Personally i'd like to have more scots (!) with kilts ..maybe the Seaforth Highlanders (if you remember one of the was the subject of a Xmas set) or regarding the equipment surely i'd like some guard with that smelly fur giving the appearence of cavemen.Returning to the units why don't do the Bantams?:)

Wouldn't mind seeing the RHA at Nery or one of the Royal Naval Division battalions represented. -- lancer

Wonderful idea Lancer,i'd love to see the RHA at Nery.At the IWM we have the gun that took part in the famous action, its crew winning the VC.This would make a marvellous set in my opinion.

Normally the Belgians should come first...
They even had a tank

We'll see what Andy will release :)

I'm waitin' eagerly the Osprey book on the Belgian Army in WWI by R.Pawly and illustrated by Patrice Courcelle..2 authors i really admire , the belgian army is often neglected..but they were great at Waterloo (they were under the Orange Crown at the time).

I'd be all in favor of some Belgian, French, and plain old service cap wearing Tommies to bolster the Allied forces a bit this year. Plenty more to add for 1914 I think. I really need to get started on this range before it gets out of hand. :)

I am a little behind on the range myself  - still don't have any of the fighting Germans ! Still undecided on the Germany Calvary guys? What is everyone's thoughts on them ?

I have reposted by Marching Germans for those who might not have seen it before :)

My vote would be for Royal Marines, with a few other members of the Naval Division thrown in.

The choice is enormous ...just look at Osprey British Battle Insignia (1) by Mike Chappell..i think Andy owns this book and this could be a great inspiration for him and his creatives..personally apart from the units i've already mentioned a great choice could be the Guards Colour Sergeant with great whiskers portrayed in the book , now i don't recall which regiment of guards , maybe the scots..but could be really a great figure..by the way i think the battle patches and insignia are essential.

IMO you should wait, we are suppose to get some new WWI range in 2009 from both sides, maybe some trenches fighting with anti-gas mask.

Germans X Allies?

Rod.

I just bought my first ever K&C FW024 Sir John French.

I would really like two see the following.

Sir Smith-Dorrien
French Soldiers
Mark VI Tank (male preferably)

If all this has been discussed and shot down before then I apologize, this is my first day on the forum.

I'm waiting too for Sir John French, i think the Mark VI could be a great success, and for Smith Dorrien , well, he was a survivor of Isandlwana..he deserves a figure!!!

By the way i think that if the next commander to be reproduced will be Kitchener , i'd buy it immediately!

I wouldn't mind a Kitchener but would prefer an on the ground commander like Haig or Smith-Dorrien, maybe even Allenby and his Calvary since we have the German Calvary.

Yes you 're right, but Kitchener is like a simbol..there are many personalities that could be included in a next release..after seein' "All the King's Men" and "Gallipoli" i'd really like to have some eastern front british soldiers...but i know it's a long way....

I hope that Andy has some really cool diorama stuff for this range !

I would think build-a-rama would want to jump into the action with some of their own WWI trench dio stuff and barb wire pieces - which could be used for WWII.

We really do need some WWI fighting Brits !

More Canadian items were recently requested on another thread, so.....how about some CEF figures for WWI, like the Princess Pat's for example. These would be an exciting addition to the range I should think. :)
