I have seen a few Russian sets still on dealers shelves and made me wonder who collects RA - Russians.

Here is a RA-04 - T34 Tank :D

Just started to. Love them, wish more sets were made.

I started too. Fall of Berlin. Have Katyshuna Rocket Launcher , T-34, Traffic director. Would love to be able to afford the RA-O4

I have the new stuff Love them, wish more sets were made.
I have Three small dioramas of the fall of Berlin.
The Russians are beautiful.

I sure would be nice to see some new sets. It has been a couple of years or more since any new Russians. The new Germans are great, but there is so much more that can be done with Russian figures and vehicles (both AFV and soft skin).

i love the russian front and consider the berlin series russians some of the best work kc has done. i am waiting for the su 52 , and a mid series marder with the gun centered mid carriage like at kharkov in 1943. i think andy is missing the boat on the eastern front and if he comes up with a serious effort i think more people would get aboard.. .. of course i would alway like to see a jagdtiger. i figure if i keep asking it is bound to happen one day.

have the old, have the new-------agree that additions are sorely needed.
we are ignoring the participant who was probably most responsible for winning WW11.
but then this statement has been made many times on the forum----and still no russians???

I think that is a bit of a stretch but certainly they played a valuable and costly role. If you wanted to single out one factor, probably Hitler was most responsible for the Allies winning WWII.;)

You're certainly correct about Hitler being a major contributor. Probably the biggest factor though was the American economy and it's industrial capacity. With the Japanese attack on the United States and the American entrance into the war in more than a logistical role the war was lost for Germany. Don't forget the US was the biggest oil producer in the world at this point as well. Had Japan and Germany been true allies with a coordinated strategy the logical step would have had Japan attack the Soviet Union from the east in 1941. Clearly these two Axis partners had widely differing goals and a coordinated strategy was simply not possible. As it turned out the Soviet Union was able to move its troops stationed in the east to the west to deal with the Germans. The Soviet contribution was one of scale. It could simply absorb so much punishment and still come back for more. The Germans were bled white in the east. Germany also didn't commit enough of its economy and people early enough when there was still a chance for victory.

With all of the collectors here checking in about how much they'd like to see more Russians, it makes me think/hope more will be made at some point.

As far as the Russian efforts in WWII, it would have been a monumental task defeating the Germans had it not been for the Russians and the way they bled the Germans dry on the Eastern Front. The entire 6th Army was wiped out at Stalingrad, they fought the Germans to a standstill at Kursk despite the debut of the Panther and Ferdinand and the smashing success of Operation Bagration in June of 1944.

Too bad you guys don't collect in 1/72nd scale, the Eastern Front is very popular in that scale..........
