Hey dudes:

Finished this little shelf dio this evening. I decided to try something new and flock the bases of the soldiers. Got a bit too heavy on the glue on some of the first ones but what are you going to do for a first-timer. Buildings are K&C as well as some foam structures I picked up from TSSD. Forgot to put the iron gate on as well as the flag on the color bearer for some of the photos. I had to use the actual shelf underneath as a stiffner board(yeah thats what she said) so I could transport the dio to the third floor of the townhome. The last pic is everything put together resting in place on the shelf. Dio measures out at 3' long, 1' wide on a 1" thick board.

You mentioned glue, are the figures glued permanently in place then or do you use it mixed in with the flock?

Hey thanks for the nice comments on the dio dudes. Dio measured out at 3 feet long by 1 foot wide by 1 inch high. The only bummer about making one of these is that you need your final configuration before you begin your work. Well at least I did it that way. So you place all the buildings and soldiers to get your layout(yes trace them with a sharpie marker because you cant remember where everything goes). Then glue down the buildings and wall. After that you place glue on top of each soldier base and dip them in whatever ground cover you got going. So I could make the ground level I actually cut out a divet in the 1" thick dio board for each soldier so the ground would look level at final product. Then you glue the soldiers down into the divet then flock the rest of the board and there you have it. Not sure if that makes sense or not but there you have it.

Thats a great spot dude. I got that plane a while back from a Philippines company called All Wood Wings. I actually got the web site information from Steven Chong's post. They did a good job you just had to be really patient. I'm not sure theyre in business any more. I believe the scale is 1:32 but not totally sure.
