Now i am thinking to collect American Indians figures, and blue coats off course,...even i will take that the blue coats are the enemy haha.Because i think they steal Indians land and stuff like that but i also think Indians are more atractive with their wild nature, attitude, wariors, long hair,....than the blue coats.
So i know that King and country produce wild west,so who else?
There is a lot of blue coats to buy (Alamo,Civil war) but wild west indians almost none.
So who produce them, which company i must look to order them.Anyone else collect indians?

I'm sure others will have other suggestions and I'll be the first. The first question is matt or gloss. The first two photos are gloss from Bill Hocker (http://www.wmhocker.com/). The Indian on a horse is made by Monarch from Ted Toys (http://www.tedtoy.com/), and the Indians in the canoe are from Frontline and are matt. Of course these Indians are eastern woodland Indians. The Frontline figures are sold by Treefrog.

ATS have an extensive range of plains Indians depicting village life in their Lancer range. Women scraping skins, trading with frontiersman, father teaching son to fire bow, men playing the ball game etc. Welworth checking their website.

If you're not particular about metal or plastic, Ron Barzso has many different American Indian figures and TSSD has just gotten in a brand new set of plastic Indians this week. He will also be producing addtional Indians sets, cavalry and even a Custer set. Not to mention his terrain pieces, sculpted by a member of this forum.

I love tommy atkins woodland indians for gloss and actually john jenkins has some great looking indians in matte

Jenkins,KC and Conte's Woodland Indians are very good.Haven't seen others to judge.

I concur with the Jenkin's Indians.

I know them pretty well and am thinking of buying some of the duplicate sets for a large diorama.

They seem to hold their value, which is a big plus too.

Give them a look before you jump, here are a couple of photos from a dio I made and a loose one of one of his canoe sets.

They are pretty sweet figures.

Conte also made some pretty scary Woodland Indian figures from their Roger's Rangers series.

Have to agree with you there Reb - I don't have any of Conte's RR stuff, but that FIW diodrama you did some time ago featured a lot of his figures if I remember right. Any chance of a new episode?

And Mike, your dioramas are quite breathtaking. Looking forward to seeing the expanded ones.
Here's some of my Jenkins stuff. Reckon you might just recognize one of the guys in the fourth photo down.

Cheers

Thank you all for the photos, the company names,...i am looking forward to visit their website and looking their offers,photos,prices,catalogues,...
Ok,i am from Europe and we didnt learn about Indians in the school,so all i know about Indians are from western movies, commics, history books, documentary series,...so maybe i am wrong(i will love to hear more from you-americans,that correct me if i am wrong),but there are more types of American Indians:
-on the east was Cherokee, than swamp indians in Florifa like Seminoles,Comanchees in Oklahoma,Texas,Pueblo Indians in Utah,Apache in New MExico,Navaho in Arizona,Sioux in Dakota,Black feet in Montana,Woodland Indians in great big lakes(Iroques,Hurons,...)....
But i notice here that a lot of you have this woodland Indians(Iroques,Hurons,Algonkins,....) i am not so much interested in this Indians.I know they fought together with France to attack English Colonies,...i think they have their state around big lakes, the chief Pontiac,...they were very strong at the time.
But my favourite Indians are the Sioux, the prarie indians or plains indians(i do not know which is correct),i think the prarie indians like Sioux,Crow,Cheyene,Kiowa,....so is there any of this type of Indians-the prarie Indians(not woodland).Maybe not just from the era of general Custer and his 7th cavalry, but before, maybe some Indian war,....like it is shown in the movie with Kevin Costner"Dances with the wolves".
Can you also tell me what is hapened with the Indians in teh America today? How they live? They are still in the reservation?I hear they have Casino(???),...i also hear they wannt to have their own state because USa goverment promise the Black Hills to them by the treaty that Sioux Ogalala Red Clovd sign but than american soldiers broke this treaty many times,....anyone wish to inform us about the situation now?
I also hear they have pow wow dances for tourists,....anyone know anything about that.Is this some grill party with food and drinks and dances(for tourist) or it is more spiritual thing just for the Indians.

Bob,

Those Conte's are quite spectacular for sure.

Are they metal or plastic, or both?

Harry,

Yes, that's me at the photo shoot.

I picked him cause he looked pretty fierce.

Michael
