The wife and I will be coming for our second show (our first Chicago show). I won't be exhibiting or selling, but I have a shopping list of WWII figures I'm hunting for my collection. We will arrive Friday and depart Monday, booked early enough to get a room at the Hyatt.

Just about ready to go; spent 7 hours yesterday packing for the show, the only question now is will it all fit in the van, we'll see.

I remember numerous years ago, packing was easy as I just loaded all of my stock into the van and off we went; that's no longer the case as I now have to actually pack and decide what to take to the show, some things are easy to decide on, others not so much.

Loading the van and leaving around noon tomorrow, travel safely everyone...................

No, but that's the day he gets to Chicago.................other than my rooms, that's where I plan on spending the majority of my time...................all work and no play makes for a dull toy soldier salesman.........

Couldn't agree more; I only get to see quite a few collectors and dealers once a year at the Chicago show, so socializing is just as import as selling at that show......................

Major FUBAR at both Chicago airports. Over 1200 flights cancelled so far. Some sort of arson situation at O'Hare. I'm already here visiting friends but there will clearly be issues for those still due to fly in and probably through the weekend, both arriving and departing. Unfortunate timing.

What a disaster; you've got dealers and attendees trying to fly in today, not to mention those who are driving and are expecting to check into their rooms.

This hotel services a major airline, there are a number of pilots and flight crew who aren't checking out today, so the rooms won't be available till tonight or tomorrow.

I decided to Fly instead of driving. Guess what happened next ! Flight to Chicago cancelled and my room that was booked won't be ready till maybe tomorrow as it will still be occupied
at my scheduled check in today ! Luckily the car drive home from the airport is only 10 minutes away. Got my refunds already on both ends. I don't know what to say at this point !

Made it in with no drama (though there were 181 standbys for my flight from Atlanta to O'Hare). Making it out was dicey...well, making it to my connecting flight back in Atlanta was dicey as we left Chicago late.
