Who Is Getting The Next Two KC Albatros's....FW114 & FW115..? (1 Viewer)

I receceived my last 2 Albatros a couple of weeks ago and was very pleased. I would prefer them to be a bit weathered like JJ but overall was very pleased with the planes. Here are a couple of pictures of the growing collection of WW1 planes.

I wonder if there anymore in the pipeline? Maybe a new plane like a Spad since it hasn't been done yet.

Great looking line-up of German warbirds you got there. IMO the Baumer and Voss Albatros fighters are the best looking aircraft that KC has done. The Udet version Albatros is quite nice too. I also wonder what is next up for we 'canvas falcon' addicts. Perhaps something from the Allied side? British, French, US, or Belgian? I'll take any side.^&grin -- Al

You just cannot beat a good looking biplane!

Rec'd my Udet version couple of weeks ago and very plsd. The silver paint scheme stands out among the other aircraft in my collection. Chris

Nice get, Chris. I could only afford one, so I got the Baumer version, but I really like that Udet version. I think it really pops. Perhaps, if it is still available down the road, I can pick it up. I hope so. -- Al

I also like the Udet verson as it really stands out. I did buy both planes. If any doubts highly recommend them. Larry.

Does anyone else have examples of the KC Albatros from the first release, (Richthofen, Voss, Goering), and from the second release, (Baumer, Udet)? I have noticed that the wings from the second release are noticeably thicker than the wings of the first release. Does anyone know why? Was there an issue with the first issue wings such as breakage, or warpage, or with the molds? I have had no issues at all, with either release. I am just curious why the much thicker wings on the second releases. -- Al

More specifically, the leading edges, trailing edges, and especially the wing tips. -- Al

I've beening passing on the WWI planes, just not enough room to keep with this new line...Ron

I'm guessing from the lack of response that either no one else has both the early and later models or haven't noticed the difference if they do have them, or, like me, just don't know? ^&confuse -- Al

Hi Al,
I've got all of the Albatros's (or is that Albatros', or Albatri??)
Yes, the lower wing, especially the trailing edge, is significantly thicker on the later releases. Weight wise, the earlier planes are approx 450g, the latter approx 490g, although the fixed pilot will be part of the difference (20g ish). The John Jenkins Albatros weighs in at 390g. Its a shame the pilot in the later K&C plane isn't a removable figure. I would also have liked there to be a standing pilot to go with the aircraft. Overall though, pleased with them all.
Will we ever see a 'pusher'? I hope so!

Pete

Hi Pete. Thanks for the response. Good to know I'm not losing my mind.:redface2: I'm just real curious why the later releases are so much thicker. The British ace, Arthur Rhys Davids (credited with bringing down Voss), was of the opinion that the correct plural of Albatros was Albatri. Sounds good to me. Personally, I would love to see a DH-2 or Fe2b, but the latter is probably much too big to do in KC's preferred material. I am interested to see what the first KC Allied aircraft will be. -- Al
