Hi all, back in the day of reading comic books , magazines there was this offer of a toy soldier footlocker!! Hundreds of soldiers, tanks, trucks, etc. Etc....for some crazy low price with shipping, of course I fell hook, line and sinker!!!! Waiting for my large footlocker of toy soldiers to show up .4-6 weeks of course!!! FINALLY it shows up to my disdain🤬🤬 smaller then a shoe box and everything inside with tiny flat 1 sided soldiers, tanks, talking about scale issues 🤣🤣🤣🤣 but in the end, I enjoyed them all be it a life lesson learned .

I wanted all those toys offered on the back of comic books, but couldn't afford the $1.75. Maybe that's why I buy soldiers for $50 each today. lol.

Always reminds me of the Stephen King short story "Battlefield" and the film version. Hard to remember that there was a time before the Internet when most information and advertising about products and movies came through print ads. A new world for better or worse. I still remember that terrible chewing gum that they used to put in baseball cards. Hard as a brick.

I had enough plastic soldiers but I did want the mini submarine that you'd see advertised, closest I ever got was a coning tower I made out of a long cardbox box, but we had plenty of fun with it {sm3}
