Who wants more Axis figures? (1 Viewer)

The question for the thread is clear - who wants more Axis figures?

Not me - I would prefer more Allied, particularly less well represented forces, as there is a current lack of balance IMO on what has been produced up to now.

I would buy more Commonwealth particularly, and now prioritise FOB and 8th Army for that reason I have stopped buying all the WS and AK series although I used to buy it all as soon as I could.

I respect Andy's final decision on what he makes, but as I said, I have stopped buying it all just because he makes it - which I used to do.

Put it this way, If HB did a new British Sherman or Figarti released some Commonwealth stuff, or another good matt 1/30 company did it reasonably well I would almost certainly buy that before any German KC, although KC are still tops for me.

If we had real choice on the market now between commonwealth especially and possibly US forces, would other collectors really want to buy even more Germans? I respect their view whatever, and sales will tell.

Just my 2 pence.

Well, i would agree with the 88,, We really do need some more of them! I dont know why it has been out of production for so long,, It would be great to have a BATTLE OR BERLIN VERSION or a BATTLE FOR SICILY VERSION,,

Hey Rob! Are you reffering to all German soldiers as Nazis and Scum? Remember, Rommel was not a party member, and he was by no means "scum".....

Well yes i am to be honest. They all fought for the most evil regime in History run by the lowest forms of human life. For me and millions of my countrymen they all fought for the same hideous dictator and were all filth to be eradicated. The thing is Daruss the guy who dropped the bomb that destroyed my mothers house was probably 'just doing his job'.:mad:I don't care how brilliant Rommel was, he fought for scum,he was paid by scum and he had no problem being idolised by scum when things were going well.So go figure.I'm sure when the people of Russia,France,Poland saw the German army advancing into their country they didn't say 'Oh thats ok they are ordinary German soldiers, get the kettle on!'

Having said that i agree with Brad we don't need to go into this again,we all have our own opinions and are perfectly entitled to hold them. But as he said we've done this subject to death and should probably agree to disagree.:)

Forgive me but i'm not sure if Oz is joking here or not:confused:.What i was trying to say is that they were all the enemy that had to be beaten thats all.Luftwaffe,Army,Navy all German all the enemy of freedom and tolerance and whilst i can appreciate Rommels undoubted military genius he was still one of them.Right i've said my bit on this and will move on.

Although i most of all want Brit/US Figs i'm also happy to get Axis too, come to think of it there is rarely anything WW2 K&C Produce that i don't like, for proof check out my credit card statements!

If you read the first few posts it's clear that the author of this thread is seeking suggestions for OTHER types of AXIS troops. It's NOT asking if you think there are to many Axis sets currently available. NOR is this thread a venue for personal opinions on the politics etc in a war that finished over sixty years ago.

:confused:The original question was in my view not intended to start a moral and /or political debate.......However it never ceases to amaze me that some indivduals scream how much they detest the German Nazi party and other "scum" and yet have massive collections of WWII german soldiers, tanks etc........If one found these toys truely offensive they would not rush out to collect them.......to place moral or political significance on "toy" soldiers is pure folly.....I suggest that we all "dirt bomb" any and all Nazi/German toy soldiers in our sandboxes in our back yards.........

Of course, I have given my personal opinions on a wide range of topics on the forum. But I don't make a habit of posting zealous generalisations. Have you ever done that do you think Rob?

Can we move on. There's no profit in continuing the present line. The war has been over for quite some time.

Rob,
I'm thinking about making a humerous diorama with some FOB figures as Local Defence Volunteers, and including some K&C FJ's. Can you please remind me; what was Captain Mainwaring's occupation in Dad's Army..?? I'd like to have some of the LDV's in civvies.

Cheers

Who on here wants to see more Axis troops?? I want Italians and Hungarians! I have been asking Andy to do these for years!

Hey Darus, do you have any of the Del Prado 'Men at War' range? I believe K & C did most of the sculpts and the range includes many AXIS countries not available elsewhere in figure form.

For example it includes a Hungarian Cavalry Major (1941) as well as several different Italian soldiers. There is also a nice figure based on a Private in the Romanian Army (1941). You don't hear much about the Romanians in WWII despite Romania having one of the largest armies in that conflict.

However, I doubt we will see K & C issue sets in their current production based on the less significant countries in WWII because of the lack of buyer interest. You will most likely only see such things as unique single figures in their Collector Figure Range.

I think Britains did some mixed sets years ago called Soldiers of the World, so maybe there's an option there for K & C.

Obviously one of those Nazi wonder weapons. I think the Panzerfausts in the headlights are the best part :D :D

That's having with your TS collection!:D:cool: Kind of a cross between Michael Wittman and James Bond.
