Why collect artillery?? (2 Viewers)

Artillery barrages....gun batteries yeah...those are the best...lots of brute force and flattening effect on the business delivery outcome..:cool:

Normally they do not show up at the front and are generally pulling their weight and that of others in the rear...well it took me a while and the great help of Obee to come up with this ALL METAL ....no fancy high tech plastic Steam Tractor paired to a heavy 8 " Howitzer......this baby has just been released for HQ inspection and is bound to the troop ship soon.....The garrison due to some logistics mess up ( mine ) will follow soon.....
I the world of Artillery I figured out that too much had already been dedicated to the light field guns in the great war...so I was fortunate to tap into some sources and get emblematic samples of the great heavies from the British, German and Austrian stock and will with the help of Obee be showing them during the course of 2016-2017.......
Cheers

The idea of using mathematics to send a projectile to a point on a map that cannot be seen is kind of interesting to me.

Here is one of my "new" field pieces...a Britains 13pdr with a Tommieswar resin limber which I constructed to accompany the field gun...

Very nice set Krieglok!
The JJD sketcher in the back doubles really well as the artillery officer calculating the next shot coordinates..
Great ammo cassion...

Thanks Luis! I am a bit of an artist actually, so I thought I would place the figure of Muirhead Bone behind them, sketching the scene. The idea he could be charting the shots never occurred to me! Good idea!

To the members of the forum:
Does any member have, and can show us, the complete set of the Royal Tournament Navy Field Gun Competition which I believe was offered by Tarrant’s Toy Soldiers Ltd during the period mid 1990’s to early 2000’s? Does anyone have the complete set for sale?

Why? Because the big guns look good being pulled by teams of horses, elephants, steam traction engines or vintage lorries!
