Now it has to be said - I don't collect many Britains soldiers nowadays ( sort-of)!

Funny sentance that - so I'd better explain. I did buy - just a week or two ago - HMQEII on a horse - saluting! Lovely figure - got it for a snip! Reason?? I just love some of the old Britains figures ( that one was a recent one produced in 2001 ) - and I just couldn't find a casting to paint myself!!! ( Drat! - 'cos that's my favourite pastime.). Nice piece too - it has to be said!

So....... to continue... I did vote in the poll - even though I only buy a few, (now and then - as above) - because I still love Britains Soldiers - the oldies, I mean.

I love Britains old Hollowcast Soldiers - which are, it must be said, getting more difficult to find; ( I don't buy from e-bay at all - can't tell where they come from!). When I do find a good specimen though, ( little paint is fine - just a mostly good casting left is okay by me), then I will restore. Lovely!

Easier though - is to find a good re-cast - and let my imagination run riot.

A knight of old? Who?

A Jock in a frock - which Regiment?

A Piper in a diaper - well no! haven't gone there yet!!!!

How about a man on a horse playing a bagpipe --Ha! already ordered! (Watch this space this winter!!!)

Welcome to the World of castings!! Where the only reign on your imagination - is the ability to think what you need to change, to make what you want ( what you really, really want) - and how you can get there.

"Now - what can I do with this? - That is the question" - as Hamlet MIGHT have said!( if he had been a TS man! - have my doubts - as a man in tights is always a bit suspect!)

If you really, ( I mean really, really), want to please me ( as the old Spice Gals used to warble - mostly in tune - most of the time!) - then go back to basics - and produce a range of infinitely variable unpainted pieces - with various arms, weapons, musical instruments, heads - etecetera - and leave them to me to paint. By all means charge a price that will make you a profit - even though as unpainted silver fish - they won't break the bank! Say around half of a painted figure?

If you just would ( as I believe Britains of old would do for you - if that's what the customer wanted), then you will have found a regular customer for life with me. Snag is - I can't guarantee for how much longer that will be.
However, thats what I would really like you to do...............Please.

So now you know my real answer to your poll! Thanks for asking - and thanks for listening. johnnybach

I bought a box of banged-up Life Guards for rework as Prussian cuirassiers or dragoons. They're still languishing in a box in my stash, though. A project for another day...
