How about those who won a prize in the caption contest share the experience on the Forum. I congratulate the winner's and appreciate the photos that they posted but there are still quite a few that have not come forward. Telling others about your win will increase the interest for all and ensure the next competition. Thanks again John for your great initiative and support for our hobby. Greg.

I was a long streak winner in the Caption Contest, not this year btw...but you can't always win! John Jenkins was really generous in these years and for me was like a special Santa (usually the gifts come in the Christmas period) . Here are my winning captions:
CAPTION CONTEST 7 "For whom the lunch bell tolls"
CAPTION CONTEST 8 "I vehemently protest! The methods of the local temperance league are becoming really rough!"
CAPTION CONTEST 14 "Gentlemen...ehm...we stand...ehm...and...ehm... fight!"
CAPTION CONTEST 15 " Well at least you can't see waht you just tasted!"
CAPTION CONTEST 16 "There was a time in Oxford when the spor practiced were more rough than today. Here John De Vere shoots first in the annual burp competition"
CAPTION CONTEST 17 "Aztec finals of the "Great Precolombian Pelota Championship". The prize for the winners was to be sacrificed to Tlaloc. No surprise that the game was stuck on the nil-nil for days"

I love Caption Contest and the prizes...i can't praise enough John Jenkins and this beautiful and funny idea.

I started with contest #4 and won lots of great stuff over the years including this years. #5 was my favorite .caption-5.jpg "Hurry up Dad. We've got to get to the trading post before all the Loufas are gone".

Greg I'm one of those guilty parties and a previous winner. I didn't manage a winning entry in last years competition, but JJD has previously been incredibly generous and I'm truly grateful to John and the JJD team.

JJD sent me some brilliant FIW marching Brits and amazing ANZAC's which I treasure and have added to thanks to Brett from the Military Workshop. :salute::

I too won a prize. In 1998 I received a very generous collection of Royal American figures that helped me create my Quebec battle. Thanks Todd for reviving the thread as there has not been a lot of interest and a shame because it could be a interesting read. Greg.

My pleasure Greg it’s a good thread. I’m rubbish at posting photographs on TF and have never mastered the skill, but plan to try harder this year.

I can appreciate some members not wanting to share what they have previously won, but considering the effort that John and his team at JJD must put into making the competition so successful and fun each year, I think it’s only fair those of us who have have been fortunate to experience their generosity show their appreciation. Me included of course.

It’s a wonderful hobby, full of incredibly good blokes and a fair few awesome ladies too! :salute::
