Winter JS-2 (1 Viewer)

No comments so know need to panic ordering one know one is interested................^&grin
I reckon its a beaut i really like the unusual paint job.

The paint camo job is a bit different...not exactly the way I would have liked....I would have preferred a white washed weathered look like the Figarti Winter T-34/85......but still looks like a good JS-2 Tank

A good reason not to chase after sold out models and pay an outrageous price for one. Firms often make a second version. I was expecting Vezzolf to say that, but he seems to have missed it, so I'll say it for him. :wink2:^&grin

Wish I would have said that ^&grin^&grin^&grin...Quite True Terry:wink2::salute::.....Where is that Figarti King Tiger???^&grin^&grin

Looks like Figarti is making sure that the Russian front is not forgotten. Quite a different way to camo an AFV I have only seen two pics of a real JS like this so, at least they dug around and researched the subject to find something different.

I prefer washed winter camo but, I suppose it will appeal because of the uniqueness

And after this version sells out, the white-washed version will be announced!

I'm in for any Russian tank by figarti. Nobody makes better Russian armor than them IMO. Anything new released by then I will be getting. Still hoping for a KV-1 and KV-2. Multiple versions would be great!

Well since you found them....This Item EFR-012 is officially announced by me! We just posted it on our website and we are expecting them by the end of August!

MSRP $239.00

The Russian Tanks were pushed through by Hobby Bunker. Most of these would have went to the model graveyard. They are Great pieces and I thought a new version of some of these tanks would be a great addition for collectors

Ya know, I looked in quite a few books I have on 44-45 East Front, & there is very little white washing going on. It seems to have been a very mild winter, with the exception of East Prussia. Putting together from pics, I'd guess that there were a few inches of snow once or twice in 12/44, followed by quick melts, and a dusting in January, and largely gone by Feb. That's for Poland & Hungary. In East Prussia the snow may have stuck around maybe into March. The Germans are white washing about 50% of their stuff and the Russians very minimal. One column of T-34's in East Prussia just threw white tarps over them during a road march. I did run across pics of T-34's & ISU-152's white washed, but very few. Not one IS-2. A bit confident I would say!

There wasn't a lot of whitewashing in Russia. If they were too well hidden the NKVD couldn't keep their eye on them ^&grin But there was some whitewashing - sometimes before a prepared major attack.

Here is a photo of a Russian AFV that has a whitewash camo pattern similar to what Figarti has on the winter JS-2

I didn't mean to imply Figarti's IS-2 has a fictional pattern if anyone read it that way. More than one pic in more than one location has the IS-2's camo'd as per the model in that winter. I meant solid white washing. So this would be a nice pick up for the W-SS crowd who need to liberate Budapest. This can get taken out by the JgPzIVL70

Saw these on the website awesome.

Just doing some reading about early '45 in the east & came across this rare account of a King Tiger vs. a JS2. The story is that in early February, the Soviets are pushing north past Arnswalde (now Choszczno), past Reetz (now Recz) and are driving to the Baltic coast to cut off East Prussia. A counterattack is being mounted by a task group of the 503rd heavy SS Tiger battalion which consists of 4 King Tigers, 13 StuG, and some other assault guns of various types accompanied by a paratroop company. They make contact in a small town called Ziegenhagen (now Rybaki) & have come across a hasty minefield laid in a street after just knocking out an AT gun: (from Tragedy of the Faithful by Tieke)

The Reds ended up getting their revenge. Bloody battle for everybody
