Thanks Ana, Pete & co. It arrived safely and looks really great! For anyone else who got it today be careful removing the tank. It is a job to unscrew from the bottom of the board. If you are holding it up or sideways when you remove the screw MAKE SURE THAT YOU ARE HOLDING THE TANK securely or it may fall as the screw loosens. Look forward to hearing opinions from other members.

Couple of general impressions:

1) the HB WP figures appear more consistent w/KC style than the earlier HB figures (thicker) - overall would still give a slight edge to KC figures in terms of overall quality;

2) the detail of the HB WP is top notch and continues to have a moderate advantage over KC and others

3) sitting it next to the KC Winter Tiger the HB has a slighly darker appearance - something of a blueish tint to the winter camo. It gives the HB winter camo the impression of being in more inclement or overcast weather. The KC winter camo has a brighter white appearance - like it might appear in sunshine.

Really can't say enough about the quality of the HB products. The hobby has certainly has moved forward a great deal in the last few years.

Perhaps it could be displayed with trees around it with one of the BAR winter camo tarps. I haven't ordered one yet, seems that my daughter broke her knee and she can not work for a few months. So, she calls Dad and he is foolish enough to help her out for a few months. Her lame excuse is that she is the only source of income for her and my grandson, so really don't have a choice if I want to be a human being.

That means No OTSN this year (I was really looking forward to my first show)and of course no new toys for a few months. Man am I bumbed out.:(

Combat, how does the MG look? Try putting the MG on the KC winter tiger hatch, see if it fits. Another week before my WP arrives.

Thanks

The MG looks great. The canopy of the HB WP is much higher than the KC Tiger. So if you put the MG on the KC Tiger it does not work as well. Might be able to rig it up at a higher angle so that the magazine does not hang down so far, but I had no luck. Look forward to hearing your thoughts when it comes in.

Got Mine......... Magnificent............ and a big improvement on the figures. The MG is a little loose on the mounting rack, and I put a rubber band around the turret base to hold it a but tighter to the body. I don't know how a military replica can get "More Real". Look for it in a diorama on one of my sponsors web sites in the Future. Firebat

Mine arrived today. IT MADE IT IN PERFECT CONDITION ! Great piece, fantastic detail. The guy holding the rabbit is different. I may have to buy another set of K&C tank riders to put on it. I stuck a small piece of styrene under the turret to keep the gun elevated. Keep it up Honour Bound !

I forgot to mention the turret, that is the only major problem I have with the tank. Honour Bound make the mechanism better to control the elevation of the gun. Do K&C tanks have the same problem? I don't have one, because of the treads, I am exercising my right to choose. Firebat

Actually K&C's guns are easier to keep in position. I have all three of the other HB tanks and they seem to have the gun in a good position. The winter panther's gun droops down a little, but a little shim corrects the problem.

I have a K&C Panther in winter camo in case the HB winter Panther needs support. :)

I actually thought that KC made one of these.....Fooled again by a master artist....Michael

Looks good Alex. Sort of makes you wonder why KC does not release several versions of the same vehicle like NMA and HB.

King and Country used to. For example there are three different versions of their first (WS 23) Panther. There is one in summer colors, ambush Panther and in winter colors.

I don't like repeated issues of the same thing. I like manufacturers to do one thing and then move onto something else.

I can't see any downside here. Greater choice for collectors, possibility of multiple sales for the manufacturer. Because the same sculpts are used, it also would not hinder production of other vehicles.

Just got back from a short deployment and had the HB Winter Panther waiting on me. This set is absolutely stunning! The detail on this tank is amazing and the sculpting on the figures is second to none.

The brass parts certainly enhance the strength and the visual accuracy of many of the parts on this tank. The tracks, drive sprocket and wheel assemblies are absolutely superb. The tow cables are actually real miniature metal cables with realistic weathering. The air intake grates, tow hooks, lifting rings, are only a few of the many detailed and accurate features of this tank. The paint job and weathering are the best of any off-the-shelf vehicles I've seen.

The workmanship and attention to detail on this tank are clearly a work of art and make it my personal favorite of the 80+ 1:30 and 1:32 vehicles I own. This is clearly the most realistic tank in my inventory! Well worth the price!

Kudos to Honor Bound! I’m looking forward to getting the Bergepanther.

Semper Fi!

Sounds really good. How would you say the crew figures compare to K&C?.Am really looking forward to getting the panther at the London show in December.

Rob.

Rob,
These figures can go toe to toe with K&Cs best figures. They're that good!
I did not get the other HB Panzers so I can't comment on the other figures but the winter Panther figures really surprised me with the quality sculpting and painting.
Rick

Thanks Rick,it confirms just what i thought,i need to buy this tank!

Regards

Rob
