1. SS-Panzer-Division “LSSAH” had 3 Sd.Kfz.234/2 "Puma" during the BOB. They were part of the HQ company of SS-PanzerAufklärung Abteilung 1 which formed the nucleus of Kampfgruppe Knittel. Knittel's battlegroup joined Peiper's in the vicinity of Stoumont on Dec. 19.

I have no reason to think they had whitewash.

Cheers for that mate. saved me sending a e-mail to my mate in german archives Don't ask for a repaint in this scheme though I draw the line at this. I can texture but, don't think I could get the hair right!!!!

Can I assume that the "Normandy paint" TGM version would be best suited for A BOB diorama scenario then? I have plowed through almost all of my related books and have yet to see a white-washed version from 44-45 in the "Bulge" campaign. Thanks to everyone else for adding the historical information related to the Puma releases!

In Normandy( June) Kampfgruppe Knittel had 10 SdKfz 234 at their disposal. An inventory made on the 1st July 1944 showed that on paper 16 SdKfz 234 were supplied to the recon bat of the LAH. Only 10 were actually delivered and only 8 survived the Normandy battle field.In Oct 1944 - 8 brand new ones were supllied to Knittel which brought the total up to 16 again.On the 3th of Dec, 13 were operational and 3 were in the repair shop.3 SdKfz 234/3 and 2 SdKfz 234/2 belonged to the Staff company. 5 others were part of the 3th company of the SS aufklärungs -Abteilung 1( Kampfgruppe Knittel) also 3 SdKfz 234/2 and 2SdKfz 234/3. These AFV's were used by Knittel in the BoB. The others were affected to the 1 Panzerspäh Kompanie.
