I've just got this winter version of the PzIV (#24 of 300) and noticed a few issues: 1) the barrel is visibly off center (not aligned with the turret's centre) and doesn't stay elevated; 2) the nozzle seems a bit off too; 3) the turret itself rests rather high and is very wobbly.... Overall still a great piece, do not get me wrong..but these imperfections bug me...I got CS Wittman's winter Tiger as my first CS piece and was really impressed (although I can't get the rear fenders installed properly...they seem too large for the slots - but that's really minor)...

So, is my PzIV a lemon, or these are known "defects"? If so, do they extend to other versions of the PzIV, i.e., Normandy, Zimmerit? Also, if your PzIV happened to have these issues, were you able to fix them? I've looked through previous posts but could not find anyone mentioning these things...I've just recently made a plunge into 1:30 world and am still new to it. Any advice would be appreciated....Thanks.

I do not get you wrong, I just see that you are dissapointed, thanks for reporting

This is my favorite CS piece, no problems with the barrel, i can also elevate or lower it. I did take out the piece inside the turret, now it rests on the hull. There was too much gap in between, I'd rather have it sitting on the hull, looks fine to me. I just have to eyeball it when positioning the turret, no problem. I also put the commanders hatch on the correct side. I gave it some extra wash and weathering, but that's about it. If you want something replaced, or fixed you can contact Brian at CS, I'm sure he will take of you. Hope this helps, Tom.

Very nice pics Kollos, if the marketing pics had been as nice I would have picked one up.

I see that you did some cupola work. Would it be possible to put the cupola from a PzIII in place of this one? I ask because the DAK model has the wrong cupola for Africa and needs the earlier version. I'm wondering now if the PzIII can be swapped in.

Thanks Blowtorch. I don't think that the cupola is swappable, it looks like its molded on or something. I could be wrong, but it doesn't look like it would be easy.

Thanks Tom..much appreciated. Your PzIV looks just gorgeous..Winter "cammo" and PzIVs are overall my favorites...so the pics are just a feast :)...Thanks for sharing..

I have this tank (winter version) from CS as well. Besides the skirts very easy to drop off ( I used small piece of sticky blue tack to keep it in place) the tank looks fine and not having any issues.

Thanks for your reply..I guess everything is repairable except the-off-centre barrel..

Terribly designed tank with the plastic side skirts etc,you shouldn't have to buy something and then put it together for it all not to fit..........................

Hello, I want to buy one of these. thanks for the great close ups. I have some CS tanks and I had to sand a few down to get the turret flush and prop up the barrels but all and all, the best out there at a fair price. I only wish they made more tigers since they are about $100 more than the other tanks. Not good. thanks again for the pictures , hope you enjoy it.
