My thoughts on the winter Tiger. This is my first Figarti tank and after switching only to First Legion, waiting for german armor from those guys is excruciating! Luckily the Figarti tanks seem to go seamlessly with the FL troops. Since I had the winter troops, I decided to go with the winter version. I really like the weathering and paint job, I personally like the grimy/dirty look. The decals are very subdued and faded along with the paint job, very nice. I hope FL takes note of the tracks too, as they seem to be individual links. Paying 300 dollars for a tank with vinyl/rubber tracks is a hard pill to swallow! The zimmerit is very well done and not overly thick. For the price, I would highly recommend this tank.

The only knock is the random splotches of black( kinda like the random splotches of silver in the Normandy version). I little too over the top, I tried to fix this with a little touch up.

I also love how the FL tank figure looks in the turret. Don't ask how I made him fit, I know, I know, that's sacrilege! He's never going to stand outside the tank anyway.

A big thanks to all the pics posted, It really helps when deciding to buy a particular version.

Regards, Tom

Tom ,

They look good together !

Figarti is definitely on the right track.....Excellent detailed and weathered Tiger Tanks at a VERY FAIR price point, thus proving that "it can be done":salute::

Love the figures and good way to get a tank commander for a winter tank. Its no where near sacrilege what you do with your figures for your display. Completely agree about some of the weathering concepts Figarti tend to use!!

Figarti has achieved its stated goal; to make toy soldier models with scale model details. A world beater joint venture would be for Figarti to make the vehicles and First Legion the figures. Call the new firm First Figarti Legion^&grin

I'm very glad to see that Figarti is making accurate scale and affordable Tiger AFV's....They go well with FL figures but I highly doubt you will see an official merger of these 2 manufacturers:wink2:.... I think that it is no accident that Figarti has "chosen a path"...and...."The Right One"....That is to produce accurate, detailed, 1:30th scale AFV's to match figures that are the best in the business.....A good move by Figarti:salute:::salute::....also.....I would not be surprised to see Figarti get away from "oversized figures"(1:28th) and start to produce FL style 1:30th better sculpted, better detailed figures......Time will tell....There is a niche to be found and explored.....scale matters.

well, hate to pop a spanner in the works but, some of the Figarti AFV's are a little different in scale to FL's and other makers. I did a comparison of the prime movers on another forum and there is a difference in them. So, I would think that its a release by release as to how compatible Figarti is with FL. They work with the Tigers but, too much difference with the prime movers for me.

The Panzer IV J was too large as well. More along the line of 1/28 dimensions. Worked with Figarti/K&C/TGM etc. figures well though.

No manufacturer seems to be perfect. All the recent Figarti stuff like the Command Tigers, Panther, JS-2, SU-85/100,Tt-34/85 seem to be a true 1/30 though.

Maybe Figarti was overpriced in the past, but their prices have stayed static or dropped whereas other manufacturers prices rise monthly.

The Figarti Winter Tiger pictured above is actually $5 cheaper than the recent K&C Winter Tiger (if you subtract the $25 for the K&C half body figure). Not really sure how the recent Figarti AFVs could be considered overpriced?

The company he loves so much and rants about is FL not FIGARTI or K&C.

Wayne,

Ranting is a good thing to bolster one's spirit! And when it comes to First Legion figures and their quality, then you have ranting at its finest!

Best,

Alex :smile2:
