I was considering a few K/C german armour pieces I own and was thinking that winterized versions in the past have been "too white" eg WS080....It would be better in my view if future winterized versions show some german grey comming thru the white wash to create a more realistic winterizing effect....In comparing the HB winter jagpanther color to K/C's winter tiger the shading of the HB tank is more realistic.........the reason I have brought this question up is that it is my understanding that K/C will soon release a new Tiger possibly a winter version.......Regards to all

Because Dunkelgrau RAL 7021 presented a very stark contrast against snow, OKH decided to provide the troops with white paint to paint the equipment during the winter. The paint was water-soluble, so that it would run off the equipment when the first rain started to wash away the snow. To prevent having to re-paint stencils, tactical numbers and unit emblems, these were often left without whitewash.

Because of the large distances the whitewash had to be transported, and relatively small supplies of whitewash, several vehicles only received whitewash sparingly, if at all. Some units had to be creative, using chalk or even sheets to provide some kind of camouflage. Stacked snow on the vehicles was also used. Some of these interim solutinos were obviously better than others, also depending on the conditions. For example, where a solid white cover would blend in very well against a snow-covered field, an iregular pattern would be more suitable against a wood, where the trees would be left uncovered with snow.

Keep in mind that mid/late war vehicles were covered in Dunkelgelb with variations of RAL6003 Olivgrun and RAL 8017 Dunkelbraun/Schokoladenbraun so these should be the colors showing through.

I agree about some of the winterized vehicles being too white. Even though I loved them all. :)

I would certainly like to see a WHITE TIGER in the true 1/30 scale.

And what about a WHITE ELEPHANT :D

Thanks Frank for your most accurate imput and photos.....the wintering- weathering effects on the jagpanther picture you posted was an excellent example of the winterizing effect that most collectors would like to see K/C try to produce.......I hope that this will become realiity in the near future for a K/C tiger........Thanks Again and God Bless you and yours

Most interesting. Thanks for the post. I agree the KNC's maybe are a wee bit too white.

Sorry no....I do not have any inside info regarding the future Tiger tank but it is my hope that it will be released before the years end.....

do you mean that you hope K&C will produce a Tiger tank in the future? :(

OR

you know that K&C is producing a Tiger but don't know the release schedule?:D
