Toxic, schmoxic... we used to paint in my dad's auto body shop (no paint booth) until we were nearly high and then sit outside with a beer or two and spit-for-distance while the coats set up!
Those were the good old days ^&grin
In Australia the PC crowd have made it difficult to buy cans of spray paint because some kids get high on it, it's called Chroming in Australia and others just used for Graffiti/tagging. The practice became so common few shops now sell spray paint and we have to go to a hardware store to purchase it. When kids can't get spray cans they sniff petrol fumes, which caused BP Australia to develop a fume free petrol called Opal. And of course when the Opal fuel wasn't working for them the kids (mostly Indigenous Australians) raided the good stuff from aircraft in local airports causing lots of damage.
