Wm Britain now has a YouTube channel (1 Viewer)

I find it interesting that these reserved Brits find it unseemly to ask straightforward questions to those who can answer them but are all too eager to cast aspersions about people and businesses in a public forum. Maybe I'm just a stuffy Yankee....

I should also remind everyone that this forum only represents a tiny sliver of toy soldier collectors. Ask any dealer, Treefrog possibly excepted, about the proportion of their customers that are active on this forum, and you will find that it is rather low.

This old saw is trotted out when someone tries to justify their not participating here. If the significance of the Forum was rather low why do companies like K & C and JJD post their new releases here. They seem to think otherwise. It’s not a question of how many people are “active,” which I presume to mean how many people post here, but how many people who are non members look at the Forum, and that number can, at any one time, be one hundred or more. Have you asked all the dealers by the way to make the conclusion that you do. However, I’m sure you’ll tell us you won’t be able to tell us your sources and that we should go ask them, etcetera, etcetera, etcetera and ad infinitum.

Tell me, because inquiring minds want to know, why Ken can’t speak for himself. Does the cat have his tongue? Has he appointed you the WB spokesman? We wait with bated breath.

Yes sir, we are known to be quite haughty.;)

Britain's introduced me to this amazing hobby way back in the 70's and I have endless fond memories of their plastic's and early metal figures.

They continued to draw my interest in the late 90s and early 2000's however they seem to have lost their way since.

I don't understand the recent posts about not using TF anymore than I understand the 88 issue.

I think ignoring social media sites like TF is a big mistake.......

Possibly they have asked straight questions, but the people who can answer refuse to engage, on casting aspersions on business, any comments are based on actions or in Britains case inaction on broken promises on releases and dates etc. There has been no comments made on the individual just their actions. I thought public forums were for discussions and comments, that is what we are doing, where there is a vacuum of information there is always a filling of that vacuum by comment and opinion. With peoples opinion based on info in that vacuum, have a read through the forum and there are plenty of comments that Britains releases are "on their way", the releases are "on a ship and on the way" from mainly US contributors. Those are the people who are fueling the negative comments through misinformation.

On 'stuffy American', i doubt it, not enough history or tradition to be truly stuffy, the US has not been around long enough, Britain has history and traditions, whereas the US has yesterday and habits. That a joke by the way before people get upset and bring up 1776, by the way we won the 1812 replay, once again i am joking.

Nice try at deflection, lets get back to discussing the 88mm gun, the Zulu figures and other figures which are promised and not delivered or like we do on other manufacturers forum pages, actually delivered figures, vehicles and members dioramas.

I think there should be no further comments on the Britains situation on the forum, the threads add no value and just open out opinions which are like arguing if the parrot is dead or not, or it might be on life support.

There are a lot of people on the forum who are friends of Ken, I have met him and would recognise him at shows, he is a nice guy and has an excellent background and knowledge in the Toy Soldier market. There is a simple solution, someone ask Ken what the situation is and put it on the forum.

Cheers, all in the TS family look after yourself and stay safe.

So you're talking about deliveries to the UK, correct?
Regarding U.S. deliveries there is no misinformation when I say that Britains has released 50+ new figures since the middle of summer.
So if they haven't reached the UK yet I feel bad for those collectors because they are really nice figures.
My whole point in this back and forth is that I am happy that Britains is alive and kicking and is 2/3 of the way through their backlog (in the US anyway).
Now you can break out for violin for me when I tell you that I had to buy my WAN 42nd Highlanders- Tel el Kebir, from the UK because you got them first.:(
Britains stopped reporting on this forum, I really don't care. When I have a question I call the contact- phone number on their website. I've always gotten a hold of someone to answer my questions.

THIS.
IS.
AWESOME.

PLEASE KEEP GOING.

Aha, yes you can see we are very bored!!
Pssst, I actually would sit down with Walsingham in Chicago or London and discuss this over a Sam Adams Octoberfest or a Samuel Smith Oatmeal stout.

I was just procrastinating while writing a paper for grad school. It is done.

Myself and a few collectors have discussed the so-called manufacturer/dealer bias related to this forum at shows and at the shop.

It did not make much sense to me until someone brought up Collector’s Showcase.

For years they have had a thread on the main page of this forum, despite the fact that Treefrog does not carry their products.

Recently they have been added to the consignment page but for many years previous to that Brian has, and continues to, post his new releases and products on the Treefrog Forum despite the fact that Treefrog still does not carry Collector’s Showcase.

Speaking of the UK, I am in Australia, the days the UK WB operated, Kate from there was fabulous always responded to questions and never a problem to obtain a club figure, were as the US no responses.

Irrespective about who , what and why, posting here and responding increases their sales, after all they are a business in toy soldiers
