I finally started working on this diorama.
I had to look first, from different angles, at some photographs ( and there are'nt so many available ) to get a clear idea about the scene .
A curved street with tram rails and sidewalk, in the background a park (on a lower level than the street - clearly visible on the photograph), telephone poles, street lighting, and road signs.

For the street, I use model cardboard used by architects.

I first draw the lines where the tram rails will come, (rails are 4cm apart)
then I remove the cardboard so that I can slide in and glue the rails in place.(wood glue)
Once that is done I cover the architectural cardboard with a good primer (deluted wood glue also ok as a primer but needs at least two coats) .
When you use deluted wood glue add some brown coloring to the mixture, this color will remain in the seams between the cobbled stones and will save you a lot of work
Using a primer first, before painting, is very important because the foam absorbs a lot of paint!!!!!!

Impressive work as always. Thanks for continuing to post your work in progress shots. Very helpful to us scenic dabblers.

Building the sidewalk, one cobblestone at the time , very time consuming

Just stunning, Guy! :salute:: But I have come to expect nothing less from your efforts!

Wonderful work. What did you use for the fence?

Thanks
Benjamin

Hi Benjamin,
a mix of adapted Verlinden mansion gates and some Dio Dump, the curve in the fence was entirely scratch built.

FINISHED: Now waiting for Heydrich to drive by
