World War l Britains (1 Viewer)

Very nice collection. I am always amazed at how the French uniforms stick out in a crowd against the khakis and greens. Blue was not great camouflage on the ground until covered in mud, but it was striking in keeping with French elan. -- lancer

Hello John (Leadmen),
I enjoyed this thread when you started it, especially the photos from your collection. I hope you don't mind but I thought that I'd get the thread going again by adding some photos from my WWI collection.

The first set is Britain's German trench set

The third set is from castings I painted. Very primitive looking French, by today's standards, wearing Adrian Helmets.

Nice pictures Russell. The figures you painted are nice. What company made the castings? I have more AIP WWl sets to paint if I ever get the time. Keep posting, I enjoy your collection. John:)

Good morning, The coffee is brewing, the streets are quiet, the back door is open , the cat is out. The weather is perfect. A touch of August in the air.

So this morning it's the Germans again hard at work hauling a small piece of artillery.

Next we have a couple of Brits, from Britains, chatting away. The truck behind them is a 1924 Ford Model T and so anachronistic. But it cost less than $20 and kinda fits for someone like me who isn't too exacting.

Next we have the sergeant cyclist. If any of you have him, you'll know that keeping the rifle in place is a bit of a challenge.

Nice figures Russell for me to enjoy with my morning coffee. I have a broken set of the Germans pulling the mortar, mortar is missing. I wish they would make more action Germans. I never picked up any raiding parties by Britain's. J

Here is a Britains or Primier German Limber and Artillery set. The Box is put away and so I don't rember which it might be..

The French WWI soldiers I painted were castings I bought from Replica Models. I believe the owner was operating out of Conventry, but maybe our English friends will be clearer about that. The two photos of the Guards in Grey Coats are also soldiers I painted from Replica Models castings.
