World War One (1 Viewer)

Hi Biker,

Welcome to the forum great photos of your Premier sets :) thank you for sharing them.

Craig

One more set, that came in today, is 8920 Mark 10 General Service Wagon with Army Service Corps 4 Man Detachment, 1914.

"Even before organised warfare and standing armies came into being, horse transportation was used for military purposes.
Until late in the 18th Century this form of transport was the responsibility of civilian contractors until the introduction of the Royal Waggoners in 1794.
This wagon design is closely related to the North American settlers version as its inception was loosely based on this tried and tested formula.
The Mark 10, a modification of the Mark 9, was introduced in 1905 to reduce costs. The GBP60.00 manufacturing cost was a saving of GBP12.00 over its predecessor.
This Premier Series model recreates the famous G.S. Wagon, manned by men of the British Army Corps who were responsible for supply duties throughout the First World War."

This is a favorite of mine. While I do like Artillery Sets, when horses are within a set, it is even better :smile2: :wink2:

Great sets Konrad, very nice additions to your collection. Thanks for sharing.

It's often said that 20th century subjects look better with a matte finish - but these show how charming glossies can be, even in olive drab. - Ken

Thank you, Ken,

I totally agree with you about the charming character of a glossy Toy Soldier and sure hope that they stay strong in the future :smile2: :wink2:

Two more photos here of single figures from different sets, placed on Erich Maria Remarque's book "Im Westen nichts Neues". I do believe the English title is "All Quiet On The Western Front".

These "review order" sets are very nice.
Last week I won one of them on ebay as well and am waiting on delivery now.
The one with the crew in foreign service dress.
Now I am looking for the mounted Regimental Sergeant Major (8916) to go with it.

Wow! You have a great collection of guns and related materials there, Artillery crazy. I recognize TAW, Britains Premier, SoW, and TGM. Great job putting all those big guns together. -- Al

Hi Al,

Thanks for the note...It took me quite a few years to put them all together. As a late comer to the scene I regret not having been able to tap deeper in the wide selections offered by Mountford Miniatures, TAW, Hinchliffe, Trophy and other great makers that are no longer with us.......
In the shots I also have some Regal Toy Soldiers ( they are from a New Zealand manufacturer....very nice - French machine guns and US Marines 75 gun plus garrison ).
I have a keen interest in Artillery and WW1 so let us keep in touch.

Regards,

Fleury
