Hello

Not all of the 'baddies' wore blue scarves, research has shown it was only a small number wore them and one myth is they foumd the scarves in an abandoned house during the first few days of the battle, while another claims the scarves were made by the mother and/or wife of one of the men!!!!!

Off to the Ardennes for the 9th time in April and cannot wait, in my favorite place and avoiding the royal wedding, what else can one need, oh I know over 400 different beers which will be available to taste afetr a hard day tramping round the battlefield

You have to ask them the right questions:

"Who was the third starting pitcher for the St Louis Browns last year?"

"Who plays solo trumpet in Glen Miller's orchestra?"

"Who starred opposite Carole Lombard in 'To Be or not To Be' last year?"

Thing was not everyone on the american side knew the answers to the questions and many were arrested by their own side even a general but, his name slips me at the moment. It worked well beyond german expectations the panic this small unit caused. But, as has been said many paid the ultimate price

I would look to not trusting four guys in a jeep!!!!!!

One ironic thing was 16 of the fake GIs were tried and executed, but after the was the US executed 3 German Judges for sentencing American soldier to death when they were caught in German uniforms.

Such is life.

there were lots of things like that not just on land but at sea I remember US navy officials giving testimony supporting Donitz and others for leaving ship crews without help after sinking shipping.

For those Aussies subscribing to Fox Classics, Decision Before Dawn is showing tonight. A good storyline of German POWs being turned and sent into a crumbling Reich to spy for the Americans - another twist on this thread.
