Wow, great new stuff from Figarti (1 Viewer)

Hi Rick-

Great stuff but WWII which I do not collect. But, as I already told you, your Warriors line looks fantastic. When are they supposed to be available, again?

Pierre.

Hi Pierre,

They will be available this month, they are being shipped out. The first 5 versions, I will try to get some photos to you on our much improved paint standards.

Hi Rick-

Great news!

Can't wait to see them!

Any dealer in Canada?

Pierre.

It’s been a little over a week since the Weekend of Heros Show in Ponoma, CA ended. Again, it was great seeing Pan Brunton, Craig McClain and Woody at the show. However, the show was a huge disappointment and drew very few.

Steven Chong and I spend much of our time talking to Rick and Peter Wang from Figarti Miniatures but them again I mention all of that last week.

I wanted to post many pictures of their recent WWII Pacific Campaign sets that I purchased and the show. Figarti continues to improve with each of their new releases thanks to many comments from all of you to Rick Wang. This release isn’t any different and I feel they have made a quantum leap in the last two or three years. Yes, yes, there is always room for more improvement. However, I don’t know any other company more open minded to constructive criticism then they are.

Yes, they aren’t King and Country but you know what, King and Country isn’t Figarti either. King and Country is great and I will continue to buy there sets. However, Figarti (IMO) has more realism and weathering to suit my taste.

Taste? IMO (I’ve been wrong before), Figarti will improve and with that, they will draw the collector who prefers realism usually offered only in the 1/35 modeling class and the kind of dramatic action poses that Conte does but with better quality sculpts and more constant paint finishes. The rest of the majority will likely remain with King and Country.

Again, this is my opinion

Not many figurines can stand the magnification of these photos. The animation of their expressions are incredible and there facial features aren't just painted on (e.g. mouths) but sculpted in detail.

Carlos, great pics, I can't believe the detail on these. From the expressions to the battle wounds, down to the fingernails. These figs. are a work of art, if I ever got into metal soldiers, these might be my first choice. Thanks for the amazing closeups, none better. Mike.:)

Carlos,

I have been a big supporter of Figarti from the first time I saw their Chi-Ha Tank, and I agree with you on all counts. Their vehicles remain the best, and their figures are improving dramatically. They certainly have mastered the painting and the fine facial and other details. However, the positions of their figures are still hit or miss. Some look natural, others almost cartoonish. Look at the figure of the marine with the rifle and bayonet fighting the japanese soldier with who has grabbed the rifle with one hand and is ready to stab the marine with a knife in the other. The posing of the marine is great, but the japanese soldier is standing with his feet less than shoulder width apart side be side, knees straight. Even assuming one could catch and stop a stabbing rifle-bayonet with one hand (a highly dubious proposition from my uneducated perspective) the force of the attack would certainly cause you to set your feet, bend your knees, probably step back. This figure is way off from the waste down. The positioning of the figures still needs work. Just my two cents.

Nice pictures. I will have to say the figures are getting better, but I don't feel they look real enough. There is just something about the figures I can't put my finger on that makes them look kind of strange. I noticed on a few of them the hands were huge.

I like the company and only hope it improves its product.

I for one can,t fault the equipement.
The figure sculpts do need some focus on the masters before they go to production maybe?
Figarti's been at what? About three years or more. Compared with K&C for
25 and Britains 100+( and remember Brit's later Ertle era figs!Ugh!).
Having talked to Rick Wang. He listens. Cares about our opinions. And, is a hard charger! I for one think the figures will inprove. O.C.;)

Louis,

I can always count on your "two cents" to make us better. Thanks for the comments and support.

Dear O.C,

We have much to improve, and YES, listening to opinions do help us get to where we want to be. Our figures are improving in my opinion and this is still the main focus this year. Hopefully, we will be able to show our improvements in person at the Chicago show. Hope to see you there.

Here are yet other shots of the new LVT. As Louis knows, these aren't made of any polystone but the real thing...metal.

Some of these facial expressions are starting to look Conte-esque.
