"...Blessed are the toy soldier collectors, for they shall be called the keepers of the lines that are right." From the Book of Armaments chapter 28, verse 12. " The sermon on the Battery Mount.

You forgot those great movies: Everything you always wanted to know about toy soldiers*But were afraid to ask, Hannah and her Toy Soldiers, Broadway Toy Soldiers, The curse of the Jade Toy Soldier, Love and Toy Soldiers, The Purple Toy Soldier of Cairo, A Midsummer Night's Toy Soldiers Comedy, Play Toy Soldiers again, Sam and, finally, Take the toy soldiers and run

Hi Pierre,

I think you forgot such classics as:

The African Queen Toy Soldier
Around the World with 80 Toy Soldiers
Willy Wonka and the Toy Soldier Factory
The Toy Soldier Miracle on 49th Street
The Longest Toy Soldier
Saving Private Toy Soldiers

And, who could possibly forget that all time classic,

Toy Soldiers Gone With The Wind,

which contained that memorable line, "Frankly, Andy, I don't give a ****!"

:D:D:D

This is fun. Who can think of some more?

Warmest personal regards,

Pat ;)

Here's some more, Pat:

Some Toy Soldiers Came Running

The Toy Soldier Mutiny

Some Toy Soldiers Like it Hot

The Third Toy Soldier

All Quiet on the Toy Soldier Front

300 Toy Soldiers

The 400 Toy Soldiers

Farewell, My Toy Soldier

Love is a Many Toy Soldier Thing

Dr. Strangelove: or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Toy Soldier

Toy Soldier Story

The Incredible Lightness of Hollow Cast Toy Soldiers

Sweet Smell of Toy Soldiers

Toy Soldier Driver

None But the Toy Soldier

Operation Toy Soldier

Who's Afraid of Virginia Toy Soldiers?

The list is endless.

What about the trilogies Back to Toy Soldiers, Pirates of the Toy Soldiers and Lord of the Toy Soldiers?

I think that the last is about a guy named Andy ;)

Is anyone here who realised that the WSS104SL set is also historical incorrect?
Heydrich never used a green "Horch" as staff car.
From 1941 to 27th May 1942 he used a black Mercedes 320 B (1938).
This car can still be seen in a German museum.....

May be Mr. Neilson should spend more time in recherche than in painting cartoons.

This cartoon only proves and reminds us that K &C has done a lot of mistakes in recherche in the past and Mr. Neilson does not like critic (see also the "Gestapo car incident" and "Rammjäger" discussion).

And what is the reaction here in the forum: they even want to buy the cartoon....unbelievable!
Never saw so many "uncritical" disciples.

Hello Adolph!!

Well, I am not sure if this isn't some prank post by another member- I mean lets face it- An Austrian named Adolph coming to the defense of the Heydrich assasination set seems a little fishy. But, I will work under the assumption that you are a new member and really exist- welcome to the forum. I would be interested to hear what you have to say about a lot of things in the hobby as I do not know of any German or Austrian collectors- I know they exist certainly but don't know any personally.

I think the word you are looking for is research.

Well, I think most of the members on this forum aren't as critical as some folks are and just enjoy the figures for what they represent- I know I can occasionally spot a "Flaw" here or there but for the most part I just go with it. I don't see the need to have every piece in my collection be a historical representation of what may or may not have been. The operative word here is "Toy".

As for the cartoon, well, I thought it was pretty comical and makes an interesting satirical footnote in the KC legacy. To all of us collectors, it was what we collectively believed to be a very nice and funny gesture from an individual who has earned the respect of his fans. I don't think I was portrayed in it but if I were, I would have laughed pretty hard and not lost a minute of sleep over it. I dunno, I think I speak for the group when I say that it was a very creative and interesting way for Andy to reach out and acknowledge his collectors.

Again, welcome to the forum and if your post is a indication of what is in store, I am sure we are going to have fun bringing you on board.

STANDS ALONE!!

Is this the right place for an arguement?!!

Adolf,

Welcome Adolf from Austria (?!). Just for the record, several of us "uncritical" disciples pointed out the mistake in question well prior to your input on the subject. Members of this forum regularly call Andy on mistakes he makes in research, as well as in what we percieve as production problems which can be corrected. Andy's cartoon was inserted at a time when several members were arguing about several different issues, in the past these arguments have gotten personal, and Andy was trying to lighten things up.

"JUST WHEN I TRY TO GET OUT, THEY DRAG ME BACK IN!"......from the Godfather 3.......

Adolf from Austria...:p :p :p

That cracks me up....

So much for the Armistice! I wonder if Adolf is friend's with the NMA nemesis "Old Tanker" from Utah-looks like they have formed an alliance. I have scrambled all Squadrons!

Tally Ho,
Beau

The reason I will never buy that heydrich set is that I cannot believe that ANdy put the wrong underwear on Heydrich
Sorry that just puts me right off
Regards
Damian

Hello Adolph...

...

Hi Chris-

The word used by Adolf is research in french: recherche. Quite interesting as I am not the author of the post.

Is there any other French member?

Pierre.

Right- I was testing you Pierre- wanted to make sure your French was in line with where it needed to be. I see that you are still proficient. :D

What can I say, I'm a product of the American public schools- so now we have an Austrian named Adolph who can speak French, English and German. I may need to get my English/French/German book out :D

Take care,
