Wouldn't have thought that the 'Top Brass' would get that close to the 'action' ????

Nice setup of the trenches and the troops, but maybe get rid of the motor bike?

Also consider placing the mortar down in a trench too, wouldn't want a sniper to take them out.

Wow Sapper ... real nice dio.
Okay, this is a strange comment but sincere. I really like how you modeled the mud.
It looks so Yicky! {sm2} Well done.

Also nice blending and matching the background to the foreground.

Not sure about the mortar team, but I agree with Obee on the motorcycle officers; look a bit out-of-place, sitting calmly while all hell is breaking loose around them.

Thanks for the comments. I think the mortar team and top brass are below the level of fire. The scene is about the Australian troops about to start an offensive after a German attack. The motor bike has just arrived on the scene to view the offensive. Regards Greg.

This was the first diorama on view as you came in the door at the Brisbane K&C Dinner and there was a sense of WOW immediately. The mud is great but the log colour( poetic licence aside) and contrasts made for a delightful experience. A bit of a change from the allover grey and oppressive. Well done Greg

This is a wonderful composition! Great stuff, thanks for sharing

Great Dio. Congrats and as others have said before, the mud effect and the trenches look very nice indeed...They must be fighting at some area in Flanders..given that the trenches are built upwords to avoid the high water table...great idea in using the logs to shore up the parapet and allow the poor Tommies some " dry area " from which to engage.
Obs:
A Kraut sniper just behind those tree stumps up the hill, just by the intersection of the two German trenches, would dispatch both the mortar team and the Top Brass in no time....:salute:::salute::
Cheers
