WW2 Marines - Pacific (1 Viewer)

Lancer: made contact with Stan and am awaiting details, thanks for letting me know about this--it is a very movin and historical correct painting for uniforms from Tarawa!!!.............Stryker
Excellent, Stryker. Stan is a good guy I have known for years through the military book business. If it is Marine oriented, he is the man to go to. Let me know how it turns out. Good luck. -- Al

Al: completed the deal with Stan, thanks for your input to help.

Wouldn't it be neat to have a diorama befitting to Hawkin's and his scout-sniper boys? They landed 15-30 minutes BEFORE the first wave, at the end of the 500 yard pier to clean it out before the amtracks entered the lagoon side on Red 1 and 2. Some marines scrabbling to and fro on the end of the pier, helping to make it safer for thier comrads coming. Theyt were the first ones in and realized that this was not going to be the picnic that the Nave was boasting about. Also, they were finding out first hand, the fighting capability of Japan's imperial naval landing forces (SNAF)--the best forces Japan had.................Stryker

Its been a terrible D-Day on this November night. We are about 100 yards beyond the seawall and settling in for the night. They are out there--we can hear them moving about. Crawling, yelling, throwing grenades, and ever probing our thin perimeter line. They want us to fire off a round or light up a cigarette to show them exactly where we are. I am surrounded by Marines I have never seen before, and attached to many different outfits. We all struggled thru the water to get here, and saw many of our comrads get hit in that terrible shooting gallery along the lagoon side. Amtrack's are few and far between, and are trying to bring in water, ammo, and medical supplies. If TOJO does Banzai tonight, we could be pushed back to the wall, but I'm not going any farther. I am not going to get in that lagoon again, not from what I experienced earlier today. I know we got at least 2 shermans to help us, and we still have our Marine Corps training and fighting spirit to get us thru this somehow. Other times and other places Marines faced similiar odds and held on--we WILL too. Could sure use some more men................Stryker

Any chance of previews of future Pacific releases in Chicago?

Kingtoot: are you kidding?????

These people don't know class when they see it. AFTER the PACFIC comes out, blowing every other war series ever made away, they will probably be discussing polish lancers and the latest nazi contracption to come out, concentrating on LOSING military forces instead of winning ones........Stryker

I would have thought that the fact there are not many US Marines on the market and the fact that this superb looking new series is soon to hit our screens, makes for a perfect window for CS to make these WW2 Warriors. So many possible sets to be made for the USMC,beach landing, hand to hand, grenade throwing, thompson firing, flame throwing....the list is as endless as it is exciting. This was a vital theatre of WW2 and it seems to me a perfect time to Honour the men who helped clear the Japenese from the Pacific.

Just my opinion of course.

Thanks Stryker.Other producers have Normandy,North Africa,Eastern Front etc covered, this could really be Collectors showcase area to shine.I also think the tv series is going to ignite a whole lot of interest in the Pacific theatre, and very well deserved it will be.These guys had to fight and defeat a ruthless, fanatical enemy in a hostile terrain, they deserve a lot more recognition.

Let's see...a bloated market of ETO stuff that people are getting tired of...an underexploited Pacific market that consumers are wishing to open up...hungry collectors with money to burn on underexploited markets, something different...people knocking on your door and telling you what they love to buy from you if you would just make it....pretty much a no-brainer to me..
