Under a scorching desert sun, medical supplies are loaded aboard a British ambulance, while a V.A.D. (Volunteer Aid Detachment) nurse, one of many assigned to the Middle East during the Great War, looks on.

Ambulance by John Jenkins

Figures and crate by W. Britain

This scene combines all my favorite components: the desert, a British soldier in tropical kit and helmet, and a medical subject with a WWI era nurse and ambulance.:)

Really very nice Randy . . .. Your new JJD ambulance and the WB nurse have certainly been showing up in several threads these past couple of days. All your photos with these elements in them have been outstanding.

Thank you Mitch and Mike

Mike

For me this WWI ambulance means to me what the WB ACW does for you.
I wonder if First Legion will ever do an ambulance?

Randy-

congratulation on that fine addition to the collection. I haven't pulled the trigger on it yet- my wife took me to Stan's shop in Gettysburg for my birthday and I was soooooo tempted to get this little ambulance. I still think it's the best release for 2011 and that is coming from a Roman collector in a breakthrough year for Roman releases.

Gonna wait to see how this line plays out. Britains and Thomas Gunn should compliment it nicely if Jenkins doesn't dress it out. Well done and congrats!!
