www.foamscenes.com Diorama & Scenics
A relatively new company the web-site appears a little slow to load up but this aside do appear to offer some quality diorama and scene accessories in 1:32.
Not acquired anything myself as yet, but is definitely well reviewed in both Toy Soldier & Model Figure and Toy Soldier Collector magazines June/July 2010 issues. Is reviewed alongside top W.Britains and K&C products, and does read as quality pieces. Very interesting and one to keep an eye on!!
In the web-site the La Haye Sainte Farm diorama does sound like it will be special. The Roman Fort looked good also. Will keep an eye out and perhaps even get in contact with. Has anyone dealt with ??

Saw the reviews in Toy Soldier collector and seriously thinking of purchasing an item to give them a trial.

Ive purchased a product will let you know what its like when it gets here.

Hi guys. I received my order from Foamscenes today.
Received 3 different products all fairly well packaged with a fast turnaround delivery. I only ordered Saturday.
I did quietly expect to receive good quality particularly re; the magazine reviews, and duly was not disappointed (will try and post you some pictures of during the next week or so)

First product I ordered was of the Block Ruins in resin. A four piece set. This product was reviewed in the mags and was excellent high detail quality. Definitely not disappointed. An excellent accessory set.
Second product was a Stone Wall Set in resin. Again, similar excellent quality details.
Last product I ordered was of The Round Water Tower in resin. Again fantastic details but more amazingly a solid robust piece. Excellent value.

All products I ordered were unpainted in resin, and will eventually paint up to my own requirements.
All were sturdy well made pieces with great details, and will certainly not be out of place alongside most of the higher end collectables, K&C, W.Britains, Figarti etc etc.
Overall, similarly to the magazine reviews was equally impressed and will definitely buy again. Well done Foamscenes, and great to have a good UK supplier. Also well done TS&MF, and TSC mags for giving us the reviews. Impressive stuff.

Wayne, and others?? will be interested to hear what you think about, when receive your orders.

Thanks for the review and update, Nigel. That's really good to know, as I would like to order from them down the road.

No prob Nicholas, was reviewed for us all to see in the mags.. These guys reviewing for the mags sure know what they are talking about and giving us all the heads up. (Can't take all the credit??Ha ha) Is thanks to them in the main.

Was a bit of a gamble straying away from more renowned brands, but sure glad I did now. Especially now that I can save on USA to UK shipping charges and still buy quality pieces. Is always a smug feeling.

They do seem to have quite a few very interesting products in the pipeline especially the La Haye Sainte Farm. I think I would probably go for this after seeing firsthand some of their smaller products where can still guage quality and detail. Still very usefull accessories but undoubtedly at lower costs than would imagine the farm to be.
Now I've had some of their smaller accessories I think I could buy (albeit depending on price) the farm with confidence now.

I thinking is great quality products but still interested what others thinking also??
I did send an email thanking them, and will try and keep in direct contact with from now on in.

With Thanks, Nigel

maybe I'm getting carried away here. I think I'm going back for some more later this wk?
'what the wife doesnt know'???
will keep posted and try and sort out few pics from 1st order

little piece of info.
When looking at header in website, notice backdrop behind foamscenes logo. Is ruined village silhouette scene.
Spoken with owner/proprietor Ashley Gill, and tells me was an early model he built for German buyer...
Looks fantastic and would have liked to have seen in action, loaded up with figures.
Can imagine would be great!!!
Nice one. :D

Not much new to report, and havent bought anything new from again recently. Will be due again soon

Although have looked in website in coming soon section, victoria jubilee tower?? roman defences at 1000mm tall.
Very very very big piece. In fact massive!
1/32 model at metre tall.
very interesting and look forward to see pics of this one. Apparantly is local landmark? and made 2 of, 1 for charity auction. ;););)

Also interested to know if this company is still around or if anyone has any of their products for sale.

Doing a search I did find the website though didn't look like it was active. Shame that's a great looking La Haye Sainte !
Steve

Yeah, I would pay well for a second hand one or even another second hand building by them.

I had a number of email conversations with the owner of this company, he had some great ideas, really a shame things did not pan out.

Manufacturing toy soldiers, scenery and terrain and vehicles is a very expensive proposition, sadly the risk/reward factor is not very favorable as if it were, there would be loads of companies doing it....................
