Hi Guys

I havnt posted any pics for a while. So since I have treated myself to a new lap top I thought I would test it out with my camera see how good the the pics come out plus I need the practice.

So here are a few pics of my Yeomanry Regiments collection all from castings, the mounted figures are mostly Yeomanry Miniatures, the rest are Tradition and Chota Sahib.

Hope you like John

What an absolutely lovely display John. I have been knocked out by your skill and artistry ever since I first saw Konrad's collection. How DO you get that almost porcelain-like finish? All of the model figures from you that I have seen are simply the best glossy soldiers - ever.

Well done, and please keep posting pictures like this. It will give the rest of us amateurs something to strive for. Thank you, johnnybach.

Once again fabulous work and a great display. Anyone would be proud to own that !!

John, Very nicely finished as usual but I'm sure that I've seen these before but not all on one base?

Undoubtedly the best glossy stuff I've ever seen.:cool::cool::cool::cool:

Incredible! This is some of the best glossy stuff I have seen. Did you paint them? Keep the pics coming, I can't get enough of the Victorian / Edwardian glossy stuff.

John,

Brilliant work, as always, and this time with a group of soldiers that we don't see a general range. Its great to see that Yeomanry is back into production, and with the other 2 UK makers you used, we can see the grandure of a former era.

Well Done !!!

John

John,

Superlative treatment! Absolutely gorgeous display!

Welcome to the forum, Brian :salute::
I am looking forward to get some of your castings, painted by John this year, for my British Empire collection.

What a treat to see these all lined up in one scene John. Like the others have said, your signature gloss finish is a thing of beauty. Congrats on the new lap top by the way. :smile2:

Hi Guys

Thanks for the kind comments from everyone. Dave the computer is working great, Brian welcome to the forum any news yet on your website? Johnnybach I use Vallejo acrylics and then 2 nice thin coats of miniature paints gloss acrylic varnish to finish.

Kindest Regards John

Hi John - Thanks for the tip - whatever it is - it's a magic formulae. Next time I'm in UK - I will try and obtain some - and maybe give it a try. I don't think they will ever be nice as yours though. Cheers, johnnybach - and yes - nice to see Yeoman back .:)

Outstanding, John! As I've said before, your technique achieves a result that looks like fired porcelain, it is really amazing. Have you ever taken your figures to a show, eg, BMSS, and displayed them?

Did you make the base yourself, too? The cobblestones remind me of the old-school treatment of using lentils for the cobbles.

A really outstanding collection and display, thanks for sharing them with us!

Prost!

Hi Brad

Its a long time ago now but I have won various classes within the BMSS shows also I won a coveted gold medal at the Euro Militaire competitions back in 1986 ( that long ago) but nothing since then.
The cobbles are lentils^&grin

Ah well, if you ever get sick of them you can make a nice vegetarian stew!

I echo everyone one else on here. These figures are unequaled. They are the best looking, bar none, figures that I have seen. What an artist.:salute:: -- Al
