Nice one cobber. Some data: From July 1969 to May 1970, 39 per cent of all Australian Task Forces casualties were due to mines and 55 per cent of all mines discovered were M16 mines. Most of these mines were removed from the Australian laid "Barrier Minefield" which originally contained 23,000 M16 mines. In July, 1969, Sappers John Smith and Ronald Smillie of 1 Field Squadron, RAE were killed by an explosion while prodding around a mine detected near Dinh Co monastery.
