What's round the corner or what fate has in store for you do you? This evening at about 5.15 my wife was taking her normal route home from work , as she drove round a bend in a lane near her work a tree crashed down onto the front of our car crushing the front of it and pushing windscreen, front interior into my wife. At the same time as that tree hit the front of the car another large trunk crashed down inches behind the car. Unable to use either front doors she crawled over and out of the back door. Shaken and shocked she was helped by several people who were quickly on the scene and was taken into a house where a lady gave her tea and cake and called the Police. The Police told her she was only alive because she had a well made car and the front bars around the window were very strong (thank you Honda). The Car is a write off , but apart from shock and scratches my better half is ok.

You know, somehow I no longer think its worth getting upset over toy Soldiers.

Sorry to hear that Rob and I hope your wife is okay. You are right, puts everything into perspective doesn't it?

Sheez Rob, I'm glad Ness is OK and that she's suffered nothing more serious than scratches and what must be the shock of her life. That's too close for comfort. Metal can be replaced, flesh and blood is a little more difficult. Please pass on my best.

Simon

Glad to hear that everything is ok. My best wishes to her.

Glad your wife is safe mate

Good to know Ness is ok Rob. Please give her my best. Life can be a fragile thing. Everything else pales in comparison.

Best,

Brad

Thanks guys and will do. Just pretty shocking really, a couple of seconds earlier and the other trunk would have come clean down on top of roof, it honestly doesn't bare thinking about.

Time for a new Car, another Honda me thinks!

Rob

A close call, Rob. Glad to hear your wife is relatively unharmed. A similar accident occurred with my oldest son 12 or so years ago. He was just shaken up but the car was wrecked. Fate is an odd thing. A matter of inches, sometimes. Things you never think about. Sure makes one stop and wonder. -- Al

It really does Al, as I was sat here looking at the pc and talking TS's a bloody great tree was crashing into the car carrying the best thing in my whole world, luckily she timed her drive to perfection even if she didn't realise it . Glad your son was ok Al, must have been a real shock.

Sounds like Vanessa was a very lucky lady Rob. Shakes you up a bit doesn't it!

Regards to you both.

Mate, glad to see your better half is ok Rob, but don't over react mate and grab the chain saw as the birds still need a home, and buy a HUMMER for her..:wink2:
Wayne.

Absolutely frightening to think what catastrophes can happen in the blink of an eye. Did she arrive home yet? Give Vanessa my best.

Rob,

I am very glad to read your wife is OK after this unpleasant experience. She could do with a good rest tomorrow.

Raymond.

I'm glad she's alright! A bad situation seemed to also show what good people there are out there. I wish both of you the best,
Sandor

Rob, That is a frightening experience....Thanks be to God for protecting your dear wife...God Bless you both.....Frank

Rob,

glad to hear the Mrs. is doing ok. that sounds like some scary stuff, sorry to hear about your car, but glad there was good news out of this accident, take care of her young man...Sammy

Rob-

very happy to hear your wife is ok. Thats a scary one that is. You are right, life is too short. I remember all too well running down the stairs with my 4 year old son in my arms when my house caught fire (and was totaled) back in 2010. Im all too glad to hear this story will not have a tragic ending mate.

I think she may need a bit of a Holiday, some place to calm down.
VERY happy to hear that it was a "Happy Ending" and she and you are safe. --- Larry
