You just never know . (1 Viewer)

What's round the corner or what fate has in store for you do you? This evening at about 5.15 my wife was taking her normal route home from work , as she drove round a bend in a lane near her work a tree crashed down onto the front of our car crushing the front of it and pushing windscreen, front interior into my wife. At the same time as that tree hit the front of the car another large trunk crashed down inches behind the car. Unable to use either front doors she crawled over and out of the back door. Shaken and shocked she was helped by several people who were quickly on the scene and was taken into a house where a lady gave her tea and cake and called the Police. The Police told her she was only alive because she had a well made car and the front bars around the window were very strong (thank you Honda). The Car is a write off , but apart from shock and scratches my better half is ok.

You know, somehow I no longer think its worth getting upset over toy Soldiers.

I am just thankful your lovely wife is allright. You have had more than your share of trials and tribulations with her health since I've know you (I still have saved the PM you sent me entitled "YIPPEEEEE!!!!" - every once in a while I read and count both of our blessings).

Rob my friend

Am relieved to hear that fate turned out ok and your Mrs is alright. Sorry about the car.

Rob thank god everything was ok. You never no when things like this turn out bad. I count myself the luckiest guy in the world with a lovely wife and two healthy children . I am glad that she is ok and a good cup of tea can fix alot of things. Simmo.

Glad to hear your good lady is OK,hope she gets over the shock quickly. Please give her all our best wishes. Trooper

I'm glad she's alright! A bad situation seemed to also show what good people there are out there. I wish both of you the best,
Sandor

Glad to hear that your wife is safe and well.

Rob, That is a frightening experience....Thanks be to God for protecting your dear wife...God Bless you both.....Frank

Rob,

glad to hear the Mrs. is doing ok. that sounds like some scary stuff, sorry to hear about your car, but glad there was good news out of this accident, take care of her young man...Sammy

Rob-

very happy to hear your wife is ok. Thats a scary one that is. You are right, life is too short. I remember all too well running down the stairs with my 4 year old son in my arms when my house caught fire (and was totaled) back in 2010. Im all too glad to hear this story will not have a tragic ending mate.

I think she may need a bit of a Holiday, some place to calm down.
VERY happy to hear that it was a "Happy Ending" and she and you are safe. --- Larry

Guys, you are all very kind indeed and we both very much appreciate your thoughts. My good lady has some aches and pains this morning so she is having the day off work with her feet up and I shall be running round like a blue arsed fly trying to make sure I attend to her every whim, she's had a lucky escape there and as some of you have said it brings things into perspective very sharply indeed.

What a nice bunch of blokes you lot are.

Cheers my friends

Rob

Rob,

I am very glad to read your wife is OK after this unpleasant experience. She could do with a good rest tomorrow.

Raymond.

Thanks Raymond , I will see that she does have a day of rest today.

All the best to both of you

Hi Brad,

Ness has a few bruises and bumps but apart from that she is fine thanks mate, taking it easy today and just putting her feet up. I will of course be waiting on her hand and foot:wink2:

Thanks Brad

How British a cup of tea and cake and all is well, wrapped she is ok mate, and agreed Honda do know how to make a great car.

I have only just heard about the accident. From what I have read there was someone up stairs really watching over your family Rob. I am very happy that all seems to be well and no serious injury was encountered. A car can be replaced. We can throw all the toy soldiers out the window too.

But we cannot live without momma.

Take good care of her Rob.

Thanks Ludwig I do appreciate that. Its just weird to think that while I was sat looking at the pc talking TS's and wondering whats coming next, a bloody great tree was falling on my best friend, as Scott/Brad said it does put things into perspective!

I am going to try and lighten up a bit, life is too short.

Hi Rob,

I have just picked up on this thread and was very glad to hear that your wife did not suffer any serious injury. I imagine she is feeling a little stiff and sore after the accident. Wish her a speedy recovery from my Daughter and myself.

Regards,

Brian.

I think you are right Rob. I will follow this example.

You will not believe this. At virtually the same time this morning, two of my workmen at one of my businesses both had roll over accidents on the way to work. Both totaled their trucks. Both walked away literally unscathed.

Same Angel...or what. If so thank Ness. I think we all otta lighten up.

Rob, Shocking news. Just heard about this incident. Great to hear your wife Ness will be OK. Hopefully someone will find out what caused 2 trees to come down ?
All the best !!!! Wish her a speedy recovery.. :smile2:
