Lt.

Many Thanks... As usual a big "Encore, Encore, Bravo!' to you as well. I noticed in your last photo that if you carefully extract the Officer and Horse via CH-46 or otherwise, and drop in the Prince Imperial, You've another winner and new aspect! Regards, Mike

Now, while Lord Chelmsford and crew look relaxed and out for a Sunday stroll to find the enemy, the afternoon before at the base of Isandlwana brought some rest and relaxation to the regular men of the 2nd Battalion 24th Regiment of Foot. (It reminds me of reaching a vacation trip destination, only to find out everything has to be unloaded) Challenge: Can you find the Officer in Charge of Duties in this scene? ... Mike

He's sitting in front of the bell tent as a ranker carrying a water bucket heads for the wagon.

In the mean time one of the members of the mounted 90th infantry is soon to meet his end....The Lt.

You are correct sir. He is my favorite figure of all I have, which is saying a littlle. I think he might be an early Blenheim The way he has his one hand slickly in one pocket while holding his cigarette uppercrust style just gets me going.
Love the 90th dismounted by default. Mike

1879,

It's time to start playing again as Lieutenant Chard standing along side of Sergeant Windridge of B Company 2'24 face off against the on rushing Zulus...The Lt.

Your dioramas always have very nice groundworks. Having a very nice collection to show off helps too.

You ZW fans are going to be well pleased with the May issue of TS&MF! It's a bit of a Zulu fest with 18 pages of articles, very nice too.

(and Joel). How about some LL Newcastle Mounted Rifles dismounted and firing away at a Trophy Zulu (about to be) casualty. Noted with the NMR is the one reloading has a Swinburne breech loader. Unfortunately, my LL variants in dismounted 24th MI and Durban Mounted Rifles use the same gun, not historically correct, I believe.

Mike,

While doing a Google Search on the Buffalo Border Guard, I stumbled upon this photograph of the Newcastle Mounted Rifles by LL.

It was posted by your goodself sometime back. I think it is great shot worthy of a gentle "bump".
