I ask myself the following question : what is this blue collar with white dots at the neck of each para (a piece of german para uniform ?; never seen that).
Scarfs were German army issue in tropical areas for protection against wind, sand and chaffing etc, some soldiers used custom colours for a variety of reasons.I ask myself the following question : what is this blue collar with white dots at the neck of each para (a piece of german para uniform ?; never seen that).
I hope it is not just a scarf, it wouldn't be very realistic on whole group of soldiers.
Agreed mate, however I do agree with Mastercom10 and question why every figure has the same scarf. There may be a logical reason and hoping WP can provide us with an insight as these are excellent FJs.Scarfs were German army issue in tropical areas for protection against wind, sand and chaffing etc, some soldiers used custom colours for a variety of reasons.
I assumed he meant that he had 'never seen scarves as part of a German uniform' rather than a specific colour mix. I don't know where the idea of the Blue and White polka dots on the above figures came from. There is a photo of a FJ with a Blue and White scarf but I don't think it was an official issue for the FJ or his Regiment, however they are popular with current reinactors. That said, I have some K & C Afrika Korps figures with colourful scarves, it adds a bit of colour to their drab uniform but any scarf can be repainted a more apt colour scheme if required.Agreed mate, however I do agree with Mastercom10 and question why every figure has the same scarf. I completely agree with you, these are excellent FJ figures.Agreed mate, however I do agree with Mastercom10 and question why every figure has the same scarf. There may be a logical reason and hoping WP can provide us with an insight as these are excellent FJs.

To keep the price down, I would say.Agreed mate, however I do agree with Mastercom10 and question why every figure has the same scarf. There may be a logical reason and hoping WP can provide us with an insight as these are excellent FJs.
Woolen scarves are great for keeping warm, I have seen photos and film of several FJ troops in Europe with beige and similar light coloured scarves. I'm not sure what started the current Polka Dot trend, possibly based on that single photo or from erroneous book illustrations or reinactors etc.I agree with you about the tropical theater of operations.
But I think it is not essential for the Normandy battle where there is more rain than dust.
One or two figures with a scarf, why not for the attractive colorful side, but not all of them !.
Maybe it was the only colour available and they all grabbed one.Woolen scarves are great for keeping warm, I have seen photos and film of several FJ troops in Europe with beige and similar light coloured scarves. Yeah, you'd think that would be enough, but as usual, nits are going to pick.To keep the price down, I would say.
Personally do not care as I am just wrapped someone is doing Normandy, SS, TIGERS and now FJ.

The slightest things people focus on boggles my mind.
That's the first thing I noticed as different things (like scarves etc) really pop out to me, not that it would stop me buying the figures. King & Country have been putting scarves on their figures for years, especially their Afrika Korps sets, but the scarves on each figure usually vary in colour etc. The only set that I recall having the same scarves is AK011 where the Ramcke looking Fallschirmjagers all have Blue & White Polka Dot scarves, maybe Andy started that trend with some artistic licenseTo be fair team, I didn't really notice the scarf thingy until it was pointed out and like Wayne and others have said, it doesn't really concern me and wouldn't stop me from buying these excellent figures.
I was more interested to know if the scarf colour represented a certain FJ unit or had some other similar relevance?
Cheers
Maybe being military they all wore the same, not uncommon in the military to be dressed the sameThat's the first thing I noticed as different things (like scarves etc) really pop out to me, not that it would stop me buying the figures. If you are talking about the K&C Aussie Vietnam soldiers?Says the guy that doesn't like rolled up sleeves on toy soldiers
I remember the complaints about the turned up hats on the early TGM WW2 Diggers, didn't worry me too much, some things affect collectors more than others.
