I've spent much of the afternoon cleaning and rearranging some older shelf displays. Painting and adding backdrops. I've decided to sell off some of my older sets in order to make much needed room for newer interests. For those interested, all of my JJD Great War British (GWB) sets and most of my Great War French (GWF) series sets are for sale. I have most of the releases from both series. So if you are looking/searching for any of the GWB or GWF sets send me a PM and I'll let you know availability.

Here's a shelf I redid today by adding a backdrop and rearranging the figures. These French infantry soldiers are moving up to the front. Known as the "Hairy Ones" (Poilu) or "The Poor Bastards at the Front (Les pauvres cons Du front, PCDF)

Thank you Paddy.

Exceptional scene, Mike!

These are wonderful sculpts and so individualistic. Never thought I would be collecting WW1 French, but happy that I did. Nice shelf display Mike. Robin.

Thank you very much Robin. I've always thought that these "Poilu" figures are some of John's best

Really impressive display Mike and the story it tells

Thanks Steve. Talk about "Ground Pounders". It's no wonder they were called "The Poor Bastards . . . "

Very impressive mate, always like these French blokes.

Thanks Wayne. As I said above, I think these are amongst John's best work.

I decided to change the direction of the troop movement. Also added 2 bread and 2 soup carriers, after all, an army travels on its stomach (not that the French rations were good). Also added a Gendarme directing them in the right direction to the front as well as 2 Poilu watching by the side thankful that they aren't going that direction.

Mike, you have become like a modern day Grand Old Duke of York, of the children's nursery rhyme, to your troops ! 😉
