Steve Earle - Copperhead Road

Kev, yeah that song is certainly 'original', was very popular and successful in 2010's. I have Copperhead Road on my play list, and iconic tune.

The following is not my type of music, more for school age girls, but these twin sisters from Brisbane, Queensland have maintained their early success.

The Veronicas...4EVER

Kev, I hadn't heard of April Wine either and agree that they are a great band.

Reminiscing Country Songs.

Don Wlliams...Good Old Boys Like Me.

Tom Douglas with Miranda Lambert...The House that Built Me.

And another from Jimmy Buffet...The Captain and the Kid.

Matt, decent pop song.

I stumbled across this Canadian band on Youtube a while back, of what I found these are the two tracks I liked the best - I had not heard of them before but they have a great sound imo.

I like to Rock

Roller

April Wine's biggest hit was "Sign of the Gypsy Queen," a great song!

Matt, glad you liked April Wine, I am surprised really that I hadn't heard of them until about 5 years ago.

Good country tracks, thanks, I'm not very knowledgable at all about the genre.

Matt, would this original be classed as a country or rock song?

Kev, others may differ, I would call that Blues/Rock.

Some Blues/Rock songs from my list:

Black Pistol Fire...Suffocation Blues

The Black Keys...I Got Mine

The White Stripes...Seven Nation Army

Three good tracks Matt, thanks.

The article above refers to many of my favourite rock/blues artists, I was less aware this is considered a distinct genre. One of my favourites referred to is Led Zep, I thought they were just unique! The hardest played record I had back in the day was Led Zep 4.

Stairway to Heaven live

According to the experts Blues has influenced a lot of musicians, but sometimes difficult to attribute a single Genre to a Song let alone a Band, I guess that is why they seem to apply several Genres these days.

Some softer Blues/Rock tunes from my list:

John Mayer...Slow Dancing in a Burning Room

J J Cale...Magnolia

Alannah Myles...Black Velvet
