Thanks Matt - did not know this.That's a good cover, like most people I assumed some guy from 'Steppenwolf' wrote that song, but not so, was this guy:
Born to be Wild...Mars Bonfire
Interesting documentary Matt, thanks. Tough to make a success in the music business!
I can't say I was ever a punk fan and I think of Nirvana when 'garage' is mentioned - not sure what it is or how to recognise it so I am probably wrong.
I have been happy in my ignorance and enjoyed hard or classic rock, some prog rock, a good singer and jazz instead. What a square.
A couple of more recent rock tracks from an English band, Thunder (still going since 1989):
I like this album, they are on 'All the Right Noises'.
Incidentally, I noticed you had a reference to Daryl's house on one of the You Tube images - there is some great music on there. All the best, Kevin.
Thanks Matt, I liked that but I wouldn't have thought of it as punk.Yes it was an interesting doco Kev, Punk has been around a while hasn't it, I'm not a big fan of Punk but I do like some such as Green Day and Offspring. I agree that the term 'Garage' has been applied to more recent bands such as Nirvana, they keep changing those genre goal posts don't they.
Here's an early Aussie Punk band;
The Saints...Just Like Fire Would
Thanks Matt, I liked that but I wouldn't have thought of it as punk.
I have some Green Day courtesy of my kids - this is my favourite.
This is more like punk.Yeah, it's one of The Saints few pop type songs, '(I'm) Stranded' is more typical of their lineup, the singer was 19 at the time of this film clip.
I have Boulevade of Broken Dreams on my play list together with Minority and Holiday.
Who's brother happened to be the drummer in Steppenwolf ......That's a good cover, like most people I assumed some guy from 'Steppenwolf' wrote that song, but not so, was this guy:
