I ripped all my cds onto my hard drive and normally listen via my computer.

B.B. King - Rock Me Baby (3/6) Live at the Royal Albert Hall 2011

I did the same but lost most of those files when my old PC crashed, I still listen to about 90% of my music on Spotify via my new PC but having cheap Logitech speakers the sound isn't great. I sometimes link my PC to my LG Oled TV as it's speakers are remarkably good, better than most sound bars IMO. However, I have been thinking about buying a better speaker system for my PC, any recommendations?

I Like that song, and have the following on my Spotify Blues list.

I have a Cambridge Audio system, very pleased with it.

Your Cambridge Audio system would be ideal, I used to have a NAD (New Accoustic Diemnsion) Hi Fi system before I went digital, which was okay for the price, but sold it when I got rid of all my vinyl. I now make do with an LG Bluray theater setup for the TV on the rare occassions I play DVDs etc, and the Logitech speakers on my PC. I'm considering buying a new Blutooth capable system to handle everything, and maybe a larger TV for xmas.

Thanks Matt, all good!

Yesterday I stumbled upon this Finnish band, you may know them given the LOTR links but completely new to me ........ a bit different.

NIGHTWISH - Elvenjig & Elvenpath (LIVE IN BOGOTA)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nightwish

Not bad, they certainly have the Elvin vibes.

Something a little more relaxing?

Modern Jazz Quartet

J.B. Blues

The MJQ video finally decided to play for me, no scary BBB (Big Brass Bands), so all good.

LOL 😭 about the MJQ - good country song though.

Krokus - Rockin' in the Free World

Looks like you're getting into Scandi Music Kev.

I've had some AI bands pop up on my Youtube feed lately, some better than you would expect;

That sounds potentially worrying .... although maybe heaven for copyright lawyers!

My goodness no horror with the MJQ?

Peter Green’s Fleetwood Mac - Albatross 1969

I am on this site because of toy soldiers, but this thread continues to amaze me.

Every day and night I add songs to my playlist based on these posts.

Huge thanks to Matt for starting it with equal thanks to panda1gen for all of the contributions!

Thanks Mate, what music are you into apart from Rock? I am interested in a wide range of music genres, currently have over 1,000 songs on my Spotify and Youtube Music apps divided into Six different genres, Chill/Blues/Jazz being the latest list added. Never thought I would acquire a taste for Jazz etc, but I suspect old age may be a factor 🤪

Just for a change, here's Three Classics from my Classic list;

Oscar Peterson Trio - C Jam Blues A longish solo intro then the swinging starts.

Tina Turner - Steamy Windows live

Hope this plays.

Texas - I don’t Want a Lover 1990

I like your classical choices, Beethoven's 6th has been one of my favourites since I was in short pants. (Maybe you still are in Oz?) :unsure:

Matt, they wrote it. I don't know who else has played it? I first saw the video on MTV and bought the cd album straight after, the only time I ever did that, but I like the whole album. Another great one for in the car.

Like the 'Runaway Train', good track.

Kev, I'm not sure who I had 'Texas' confused with, most likely 'The Pretenders', the female lead singers looking similar to a young guy in far away Australia.

AI agrees ;)

Yes, many people have noted a resemblance between Chrissie Hynde of The Pretenders and Sharleen Spiteri of Texas, often attributing it to their similar sharp features, intense stage presence, and similar hairstyles at various points in their careers.
  • Shared features: Both are known for their strong cheekbones and dark hair, which can create a visual similarity.
  • Comparable style: At different times, both have had very similar short, spiky haircuts, enhancing the comparison between them.
  • Musical roles: As lead singers and guitarists of their respective bands, their powerful stage presence further contributes to their similar "rock star" image.
