Things that annoy me (4 Viewers)

Cover bands. I can maybe see this for some group like the Stones but if you are the member of the Chicago cover band it must be humbling and even a little creepy. And who is the audience for this?

Headlines like this: "Deadliest Catch deckhand cause of death revealed"

Let's see. The guy was swept overboard into the freezing ocean. Did someone think decapitation was a possibility? "Drowning with probable hypothermia" doesn't seem that surprising.

Interesting posts guys.
I'm mostly with Mike Miller, but I like to hear different opinions.
Politics aside,
As a man who has many, many, (too many?;)) Greek friends, i have formed the opinion that Greek women are the hottest women in the world when they are young. Then they become Yai. I can't speak, much less spell, Greek. But by Yai I mean Grandma. And by grandma I mean 60-year-old woman who needs a shave worse than me after bender.
I looked like a skinny nerd when I was young but I haven't deteriorated to quite that extent. Maybe it is genetic?
Still, the way they look and their determination to live is inspirational.
Looks aren't everything...
Thankfully for me!
Hope I didn't offend you guys. I gave $10 for Greeks still living in Turkey's territory. So there. (That's a true story and a real issue for my Greek friends).
Seriously, I am a Grecophile so don't throw cheese-pies at me please.

I’m not offended cause it’s a fact… you can’t get mad at the truth…
“Yai” … that’s the universal word for “Daaaaaam!”… your post made me a smile and laugh….

I've seen some really good ones.............and some not so good ones.

Saw a Fleetwood Mac cover band from the UK that was spectacular, also a Queen and ELO cover band from the UK that were both incredible, also a Cars US based cover band and a Journey US based cover band as well, the Journey band had a lead singer who looked and sounded just like Steve Perry in his prime.

If you're good, there's a lot of dough in it.............conversely, saw a KISS cover band that was God awful.

So there's that.

Yeah, the Greeks are not fans of the Turks.

At all.

Buc-ees. Unreal. This place is like Mad Max meets Idiocracy. I give them credit for fantastic market. Every person in a thousand-mile radius of these places down south must go there for gas.

A true success story. 2 biggest things I like about them - gas is the cheapest (usually), restrooms are spotless for the most part. Makes it an easy stopping point on a drive. By the way - it is not a bad career either - Store Managers can make up to $275K, Food Service managers - $225K. I think I am going to retired and cook jerky and brisket all day.

There is a Buc-ees within 15 miles from my house...every time I drive by...they are packed...I have never been inside one...there are several on HWY 45 from Dallas to Galveston...when my sister comes to visit me...the only place she will stop to use a bathroom is Buc-ees...yes...my sister is picky on public bathrooms...and if they meet or exceed her degree of sanity...they must be clean...both her and my brother in law brag about their clean and sanitary bathrooms...

Does anyone ever tire of the following? "Democrats spin special election loss in Rome Georgia (Greene's old seat) to say they over performed in a loss". Ok - let's talk about fact versus fiction here (which is what I thought the press is supposed to do). A. It is a very strong Republican seat, like 30 points strong in general elections. B. Runoff elections are notoriously low turnout elections, especially when they are only filling a vacancy for less than 6 months. C. Republican still won by 17% plus . Overperform and loss should not be IMO used in the same sentence. The spin is just ridiculous and our idiotic press reports it as fact. Well, not that I am Nostradamus, but let me tell you how the November Election for that seat is going to go -(Barring any scandal) - Republican is going to win the full term by 25% plus in the General Election. Not much spin there. The 2 mins it took me to post this drivel is 2mins of my life I will never get back.

The press goes on and on. All smoke and mirrors and little facts. I am sorry, but this congressional race just isn't breaking news.

How Trump's tax law boosts the wealthy and leaves behind some workers he promised to help...

So wealthy people are making out and the little guy gets screwed.

Shocking.

As far as tax refunds/how big or small they are, to me that's laughable, I haven't gotten a refund in the 30 years I've been in business, all I do is pay, pay, pay, this year on top of my quarterlies, I owed about 3 grand. The more I make, the more they take.

My two biggest taxes are social security and unemployment, I pay into the SS pool as a business owner and also the unemployment pool, even though I will never be able to collect unemployment. Also, I did not start collecting social security this year when I turned 65, my accountant said I make too much money and would get murdered on taxes.

So Social Security, something I've paid into my entire working life, gets taxed.................so I pay a tax on the tax money I paid to the government/get to collect on once I reach 65.

I have to wait until I am 67, they can't touch a dime of my SS once I hit 67 no matter how much money I make.

If you are upset because a politician failed to make good on a campaign promise, I don't know what to tell you, politicians cater to their donors, those who "donate" the most to campaigns get the most back in the way of favors.

That's how our system works, like it or not.

Are you really criticizing Trump for eliminating taxes on most tips and social security recipients when they were all previously taxed? That is strange logic. Do you oppose excluding the wealthier recipients and want them to pay no such taxes? Under the Dems, these would have been taxable for everyone. Instead Trump has eliminated the tax unless the recipient exceeds the cap. It's the classic no win situation. Trump helps working class folks by not taxing their social security and tips but excludes only some higher wage earners and he is somehow leaving workers behind and benefitted the wealthy? Of course tax cuts have greater benefits for those who actually pay taxes. How could there be tax reductions for the nearly half of Americans who already pay no taxes and live off government handouts paid for by those who do pay taxes?

I don't have a Trump nerve to rub raw, not sure how many times I have to mention I'm an independent who leans right on things like immigration/the border, WOKE/DEI policies and energy policy but left on things like guns and foreign policy, you posted a story, I replied to the story from that bastion of truth and integrity, NBC news.
