US/Israel Launches Op Epic Fury Against Iran (2 Viewers)

I would use the word “understanding” cautiously. The Strait may open and nuclear negotiations pushed down the road and for Trump, the price of gas falls to acceptable levels such that the GOP has a fighting chance in the midterms. However, where we may be is status quo ante. Nothing gained, nothing accomplished. That’s what happens when you lack a strategy.
I think the strategy is complicated. Militarily, they are hurt, so that is a gain. The Regime is the issue and it is deep. I think that takes a war we are not prepared to embark upon IMO. I do know that for nearly 50 years, this is a bad group of people. I don't know how you rid of that entrenched issue without bombing them to the stone ages and in the process hurting innocents. It is a steep price to weigh.

Cheers mate!
Happy Memorial Day, today is the day in the US where we honor all those who gave their lives for us, gave up their tomorrows so we could have our todays, Bunker Hill, Saratoga, Yorktown, the Alamo, Antietam, Gettysburg, Chickamauga, the Wilderness, the Siege of Petersburg, San Juan Hill, the Argonne Forest, Pearl Harbor, Bataan, Kasserine Pass, Anzio, D-Day, Normandy, the Hurtgen Forest, Battle of the Bulge, Chosin Reservoir, Khe Sanh, Hamburger Hill, Kuwait, Afghanistan, Iraqi and now Iran.

Thousands and thousands of service men and women died for their country, their relatives get to visit their graves today.

So people can argue politics on a toy soldier forum.

Sounds about right.

Anyway you look at it the innocents will be hurt. If Trump makes a deal with the fanatics he can never say anything about Obama and Biden. The Iranians will never have a chance to have a good government. Hezbolleh and Hamas will rise again. And the West will face the threat of nuclear attack down the road. They will never give up on this.

Not just nuclear, the terrorist attacks funded by the islamist will carry on increasing, creating fear as that's how the keep people unbalanced, in the non muslim, but increasingly brain washed population, whether they be in London, Berlin, Paris, New York etc.
Not trying to cause disharmony, just reminding all, that they want the world to bow down to them.
Cut down the paymasters in Iran and the fanatics won't have the financial support and eventually go back to being on the fringe.

Today is a day that is special in my family. Many relatives fought for the freedom I enjoy today dating from the Revolutionary War to Iraq. To me, that is something I take great pride in and am very proud about. I sometimes have my own regrets about not taking the Air Force ROTC offer, but I guess chips always fall where they are going to fall and things work out as they were supposed too.

Happy Memorial Day and remembrances to all,

Tom

As if he hasn’t enough enough on his plate, dear leader called for Saudi Arabia and other Muslim countries to join the Abraham Accords. He even Iran joining one day :D

Both of my Grandfathers fought in WWI as members of the US Army, My Dad and all 9 of my Uncles fought in WWII as member of the US Army, Air Force, Navy and Marine Corps, one of my Brothers was in the US Army in Vietnam, I'm proud of each and every one of them, went off to war when they nation called them, all of them love/loved their country and did what was right.

Rather than go to a BBQ today, I went and visited 12 graves, then stopped at my oldest brothers house and told him I loved him and thanked him for his service.

Now that's a first. Never thought I'd be lectured on the importance of military service and remembrance by a civilian.

That wasn't a lecture.

Here in MA through "Home Base", we planted over 37,000 US flags on Boston Common, one for every MA resident who died fighting for our country.

Our state may be a broken toilet when it comes to a lot of things, but we have a proud tradition of going when our country called us.

I get so amused in one way and angry the next at most democrats. Some democratic congressman was being interviewed in regards to the war and he stated something to the effect "Trump has us mired in this war". No Vietnam, Afghanistan were wars that lasted years with no end in sight. That's "mired". Not a war were 13 serviceman lost their lives and the war has been going on for just 13 weeks. I have to say that hakeem jeffries has moved into first place of the politicians I can't stomach. He puts Sammy Davis Jr to shame as a tap dancer as he dances around everything. To hear him talk you would thing the American people are ready to over throw the Trump regime. Having the honor of being #1 when you have as competition bernie sanders, j.b. pritzger, that purple haired old bat from I believe Connecticut. adam schiff and a few others is really saying something.

Maybe you do need a lecture. Your posts typically come across as a seemingly superior proclamation tone coupled with thinly veiled insults. If you want to have a go so to speak, don't do it cutely just directly state it. People on here have a much higher IQ then you would seem to give credit.

I approach things very directly, I don't type anything I wouldn't say directly to someone during the course of a normal conversation. If someone has a problem with that, I can live with it, I am the only one that has too.

I'm not sure what posts that you are referring to. Most of them are thanking people for posting pictures of their toy soldiers and dioramas.

I hope nothing that I've written is thinly veiled. I will call out far-right extremists and those that advocate for committing war crimes and/or covering them up everytime. IQ has nothing to do with it. There are plenty of brilliant people that are downright nasty.

Anyways I don't think this forum is for me any longer, so you won't have to put up with me any longer.

Typical - take your ball and leave the sand box.

Thin skinned maybe was what I should have wrote. Honestly, your post says it all. Newsflash - not all Republicans (actually I dislike the party monikers), put another way, not all fiscal conservatives or pro military or pro-business etc people are "nasty". They just may have a different worldly view than you do. There are plenty of far both sides people who I think are out to lunch, but I don't know all of them, so I have trouble throwing them into buckets. I hate to keep posting this - I am not a registered Republican, I have very independent generated views, can't stand either party "mantra"

Defense of one's Country is not a war crime "everytime". Terrorism is in the form of suicide bombing of Civilians is a crime were the October 7th massacres. Those are war crimes. There is no cover up by the Israelis, everything they have ever done is on view to the World.

Back in 1979 - the American Embassy in Iran was overrun by zealots who committed numerous atrocities, then held the captives for what seemed like an eternity. Same thing in Beirut - those are War Crimes or terrorism against the United States of America.

Our strikes on Iran are not War Crimes, they IMO were just a few decades late in the making. As the leaders of the Free World, we may make unpopular decisions in the near term, but they usually turn out ok and largely benefit the World at large. A world without the Iranian Ayatollahs would certainly be a better world. That is not a far-right viewpoint - if you surveyed a 100 Americans, I am willing to put my money where my mouth is that you would get a large majority who would like to see the end of the Ayatollahs.

Keep preaching the War Crimes - here is a cold hard fact - if Israel falls in that region, so does the religious free world. It is all there in our history books - there is one movement that is hell bent on the destruction of the West and its freedoms, and it is not China or Russia (their ideology is different than ours but their goal of living and prosperity I don't think is). The movement of one religion is though.

Brendon, I am really sorry to see you leave. I’ve enjoyed your posts… and feel that war crimes have been committed by both Israel …the USA and Iran… how anyone can differentiate that one is OK and the other is not…is beyond me… a war crime is a war crime… it’s usually the civilian that’s punished by this…and it’s illegal…I believe all three belligerents are guilty of war crimes within the last few months… and anybody who doesn’t…is just lying to themselves…or too loyally blind to their party to see and admit the truth…

Mike

I completely disagree with your post. The United States has not committed any war crime against Iran, nor has Israel. I find it really disheartening that you would equate the actions of either country with that of Iran. That is just nuts and ludicrous by any contention. You literally are putting us in the same category as the Terror Ayatollahs of Iran. I feel sorry for you if you have convinced yourself of that.

Taking out their Nuclear program is no where near a war crime, but suicide bombings against civilians certainly are and I don't see Israel or the US doing any of that. There is no blind loyalty here on my part, I just believe in right and wrong and nowhere in my brain are the Ayatollahs of Iran EVER going to fall on the side of "right" in my book.

You really have an interesting view of blind loyalty to a party, to me that has nothing to do with this. Additionally, admit what truth, that Iran is and has been a current sponsor of terror, death and destruction since the Ayatollahs took power? That is a fact that is real hard to dispute.

Question, since you are talking about your view here of war crimes, what was your take on Reagan going after Qadaffi? OR your take on Desert Shield and then Desert Storm? Or 9/11 and the Taliban? I don't view any of these any differently than us taking out Iran. These are horrible people who do not wish the continuing of our well being as a Nation.

No offense, but on all days of today Memorial Day, it is a really interesting take. My cousin is a Retired Full Colonel from the United States Air Force and a veteran of the Middle East Wars Desert Storm, 9/11 and Iraq. I don't think he would agree with your take and I certainly don't think he committed any war crimes with his participation.

Unfortunately, our world is not one that gets along and our freedoms just are not free. If you think the quality of living is better in the Middle East, go ahead and let me know, I will take a rain check on finding out.

No one is lying to themselves by agreeing with our Military actions.

I hope you reconsider as I enjoy your contributions.

This is a post that could have been toned down some, particularly as we have a member who said he’s leaving and this does nothing to make him think about returning.

Say what you will, I will support that right.
But it's over for that child molester. And those crazy enough to follow him.
Best wishes to you all. You are all better than him/it.

Over the years I have come to realize that Memorial Day is more than just a day of remembrance for the fallen.

It is also about those that survived serious combat injuries.

We have a client in our gym who was wounded in Iraq.

She was in a Humvee that was hit by an IED.

She lost her leg almost all the way to her hip, she lost the use of one arm and suffered a traumatic brain injury.

Yet whenever she talks about what happened she focuses on her 2 fellow service members who died in that same attack.

While there have been many desperate last stand type occasions of military personnel, Japanese Kamikaze spring immediately to mind, sacrificing themselves during wartime, but I've never heard of Christian or Jewish or any other religion for that matter encouraging suicide attacks on civilian targets in peacetime.
Only one lot, brain wash their followers into such atrocities.
Oddly enough though males are convinced they will go to a sex filled paradise with 72 virgins, female attackers only can look forward to not having to see their husbands again.
It would seem a bit unfair and sexist !
