Facts:
My old condo Prez once said that her main opponent, a man who looks ands acts exactly like Frank Herbert's Baron Harkonnen, got drunk too much. Even though I was with him once when he did, he sued the Prez, a widow of a U.S. Naval Captain and a highly efficient, intelligent woman who always kept the books in order when others wanted otherwise; and, although he finally lost his case recently, it took such a toll on that tough old bird that she lives in a deeper depression than she deserves.
As Dad's son, I have seen lawsuits that were complete bunk but, since they were sometimes successful and always expensive for both parties, they have proliferated. I have seen the political prosecution of Labor and Black leaders before Immigrants were targeted for every traffic stop (they are now here). I have seen good, hard-working people go to prison because the prosecutors thought that Daley was corrupt and maybe they would say so (they didn't) but had and have no proof. Not to say all lawsuits are bad. But it is a fact that there are too many and also that life is too short to deal with other peoples' hard-ons.
Lawfare is real.
Best Wishes Guys, it's not y'all I'm angry with.
