Who Collects RA - WWII - Russians (1 Viewer)

George, Frank and Alex: Thanks for posting the neat Eastern Front dioramas. I enjoyed viewing them all. I am tempted to buy the 1/35 kits again just to get more Russian tanks. Leadmen

Thanks John, I really enjoy planning them out and setting them up and snapping off the pictures; the taking it down part bums me out, but I still enjoy all aspects of it.

The building Alex made is 100% scratchbuilt and he was kind enough to make one for me to use as a display at the shows, it has really helped me sell the Berlin sets and anything else I display on it for that matter, just like the awesome winter display warbuff created and was kind enough to offer to me...........

The 1:6 action figure collectors are big fans of the Eastern Front. I am not sure why there is so limited appeal in the 1:30 market.
Regards
Damian

I'll keep my eyes open for those books. They sound great. Frank, if you need exact titles, publisher, etc, let me know and I'll be glad to help you out.

Here is the website I use all the time when posting pics of 1/35 kits on this forum. I find it fun just to browse the gallery.

"http://www.missing-lynx.com/gallery.htm" Frank, isn't Missing Linx awesome, I love the dioramas in the gallery section, terrific stuff. Ever seen the one where the T34 collapsed through a street and is laying down in a sewer and the Germans are about to throw grenades and gas down on it, it's incredible. Check out my gallery section on my website www.mmtoysoldiers.com as there is a terrific Stalingrad picture I took at a show here in Boston (the world figure expo) held here three years ago.

There is a diorama I saw in a magazine a while back that depicted one of the battles in the Stalingrad factories. Man was that impressive. I love those "in action" type of dioramas............

I checked out those pictures on your website. Now you have me intrigued. Do you have any bigger versions of those pictures? I'd love to see the detail.

I really enjoy viewing dioramas. When you view them from different angles you see an entire story unfold often with many subplots.

I haven't seen the T34 and the collapsed street but it sounds great. I quite liked this Tiger II on a collapsed bridge in Hungary. There is something about water features that brings dioramas to life for me.

Frank,
The modeler who made the Stalingrad diorama is from New York and he posts pictures of his dioramas on a website similar to Missing Links, I will try to hunt it down for you. He also did an incredible Berlin diorama with the Russians bearing down on the last ditch defenders in the heart of Berlin, it was incredible, will try to find it for you..........

Regards,
George

This scene is just amazing. I've never seen anything that good (sorry, Gordon). The picture of the fellow taking a cigarette break expresses the weariness that we all have. That, in and of itself, is an incredible scene.

WOW that Kingtiger diorama ranks as the best I've ever seen, the details on the vehicle, figures, tools etc, and of course the water is amazing

Just think that this was the before picture of that King Tiger.

Rod, your diorama and photographic work is simply stunning. The scale of the Berlin project is amazing.:eek:

...now if only there were more pieces available to fill all that space.;)

Thanks Frank,

Last month I acquired two more sets of Russians, a T-34 and the RA011 team (my budget is very small two or three sets per year…:(…).

Lately I have been work with different Dioramas and I had not spent much time with my Berlin Dio. I hope that New pics will be coming very soon on this summer.

Cheers

Rod.

I am enjoying this Russian thread very much, so here is my .02 to keep it going. Russians on the outskirts of Berlin, 1945.........

It's either fight and die for the Fatherland, or surrender to the Russians; most of the Germans chose the former option.........
