The New Collector Magazine is on the website! (1 Viewer)

I think you're a cool guy and I don't doubt your passion and commitment to the hobby (and I have no problem whatsoever with you writing an article in the magazine), but let's not kid ourselves where your ultimate allegiances lie.

Dear CS
I have been very low profile on the forum for a while (Olympics are just around the corner) but always enjoy reading the forum posts and agree with some views and not with others (thats life) however I can not let the above quote go with out putting you straight on your facts!
1. My brother is not cool.....I know as I am his cool older brother!
2. My brother did not write an article in the 25 year magazine.....I did......have you read my brothers forum posts! :p
3. Please come to the Toy Soldier Show London have a great day of toy soldiers and speak to any of the traders about how impartial 'The Nevilles' are.......Steve Weston would be a good person to chat too.....hey even Norman Joplin I have a great relationship with and would let you know about how we are 'impartial'....he has asked me to help him launch his book at the show.....impartial? You bet!
4. Toy Soldier TV please ask yourself why I would be invited to a Private function and launch by Britains Richard Walker to film the whole thing if he did not feel he would get a fair and 'impartial' representtion of the event! Indeed Conte, Figarti, Frontline etc etc have already and will continue to share their great work with us (many things in confidence) as they know we are being impartial and they/the hobby is beniffiting. Hey CS send us some films and we will put them on for you or send pictures of your collection and you can share with the world your passion!!!

So in closing I would conclude with the following...
K&C UK .......are we impartial? Bloody hell no; we love K&C! Unlike many people it is for us 'our life' and we were selling it and passionate about it long before most people on this forum had heard of it....indeed many of the worlds largest K&C nuts got into K&C through my Mum and Dad!
The London Toy Soldier Show.......are we impartial? You bet we are because if we were not do you think the event would be where it is now.....great atmosphere, younger and younger collectors, new companies attending and established traders (our competitors!) recording record shows and thanking us for what we are doing?
Toy Soldier TV.....are we impartial? You bet for all the same reasons we have tobe for the show........so that it grows for the benifit of all; the hobby, the collector, the traders.

So CS there is my two cents but I like to think actions speak louder than words.......don't you CS?

Hi Guys,

First of all I would like to thank ‘Canadian Samurai’ for expressing his gratitude to Andrew (Praetorian) of King & Country for his response.

Now, I would like CS to expand and tell us all EXACTLY WHO….
a) LIES to their customers…
b) TREATS them like Kindergarten students…
c) PUTS DOWN their collectors…
d) CALLS THEM OUT….
e) ELEVATES one customer over another…
f) DOES NOT treat customers equally….

Also in an earlier post he talked of ‘INSIDERS’… Let’s have a list of everyone CS considers an ‘INSIDER’. This is not the first time CS and myself have ‘crossed swords’ and I don’t think it will be the last time either.

We put out our little magazine and lots of people have liked it… Some, for whatever reasons, did not. CS in particular started to throw mud at it with all kinds of snide aspersions and accusations and then, when he’s asked to explain in more detail, weakly replies ‘People are free to draw their own conclusions’.

So, enlighten us ‘Canadian Samurai’… don’t stay in the shade, come out into the open with your answers. For a start, how about telling us a little more about yourself and your real name instead of your ‘nom de guerre’.

Sincerely,

Andy C. Neilson

Andy-

Pierre here. CS and I are members of CTSC (Canada Toy Soldiers Club). Why don't you become a member? We will plan a chatroom session at your convenience (and Bob, too) and CS, Bob and yourself will have a great opportunity to discuss about a) to f) and Bob's observations. Other members may also join the session and participate. In my opinion it will be a "coming out" for everybody.

Wot..?? Little Innocent Me..??

Noo Wood Eye..?? :D:D:D
You would've thought that awarding 5 stars for this particulary entertaining thread, or doing my rant all in upper case, which is completely unlike my normal (?) posts, would've given the game away.

Cheers

Finally got the mag in my mits , waited till I got the good old paper copy to read,
and quite an enjoyable read it was too...thanks K&C and congrats on the 25th!....
p.s anyway Rob would never have manged to keep to the word limit:D:D:D

Still waiting for mine. IT"S A CONSPIRACY OF INSIDERS ..... oh wait its just my clueless rural mail carrier, probably delivered it down the street by mistake. Great, now I'll have to wait till my neighbors return from summer vacation before I get it:D:mad::)! Like redhugh, I don't want to read it till it's in my hands.

I'm also waiting for my copy.

I did read it off my computer.......I'm still using eye drops.:D

You are a braver man than I! Hell, I can barely read the few lines I'm typing right now:D. I might be able to read Rons article if he used the GIGANTIC NAPOLEON FONT:D:eek::).

It was rough...first I down loaded all the pages then enlarged them using

Photo Gallery.....by the time I was finished I probably could have spotted

the Apollo landing site on the moon with a pair of opera glasses.

I've been seeing double ever since!:D

Say that isn't a picture of Andy on the lunar rover???

Cuddly Friends,

It never fails to amaze me how controversies rage here about relatively nothing.
K&C mark a very special anniversary by issuing a free magazine and inviting some well-known names within the hobby to contribute a piece. So far, so good, and I personally find the mag to be an entertaining and informative read.
By the very nature of things (human nature), it was inevitable that there was going to be a certain level of disappointment. But, as pointed out by others, given space restraints, how could K&C possibly have made everyone in the whole wide world happy on this occasion? Not a very attainable outcome I would suggest. K&C have addressed the issue (if issue there ever really existed) by stating quite categorically that they will offer the opportunity for those who missed out this time to contribute an article to future releases of the magazine. That ought to have killed off the story-line, stone dead.
Did it..??

Ummm....well, no it didn't, as a matter of fact.
This thread went spiralling off on tangents of vitriol, anger and, perhaps, some misunderstandings.
I've recently had a series of insightful exchanges with a certain forum member, and good pal, entitled "You Anti-British S***bag" :D where we explored the entire subject of satire on this forum. It's very, very, difficult sometimes to put across the entire meaning of a post when it's only in the written word. No-one hears the inflections in your voice or the barely suppressed grin.

To be honest, I'm amazed this entire thread hasn't been pulled. The last time I sprang to the defence of K&C and it's co-owner (with apologies to Jazzeum, but as an enthusiastic K&C collector it's something I'm perfectly entitled to do), I started a satirical thread, something about me being willing to give away my extensive and entirely inaccurate K&C collection if anyone cared to travel to China at their own expense and buy an expensive raffle ticket at the entrance to Heid Mansion. The thread was immediately pulled. The reason the pullee gave being that it was "baiting". Nothing could have been further from the truth, but I only offer this as an example of a misunderstanding where a "pastiche" of the, sometimes more objectionable posts that occasionally pop up here - CAN GO ALL WRONG.

In saying the above, I'm glad to see evidence that the passions aroused on this thread appear to be abating somewhat and a few calmer posts are being exchanged.
Wonder what the next blood pressure raising debate is going to be all about...???

Cheers
H
